hey gang,
since everyone was so in love with the texas roadhouse i wanted to get the may meet locked in early.
we are looking at either may 13th or the 27th. both are saturdays and would operate by the same basic plan as this past weekend did: arrive 11:00-11:30, inside around 12ish. keep in mind that the 27th is memorial day weekend.
there is a joint activity with the FSFBA that we are planning for saturday the 20th, so that date is out.
the restaurant also offered to open up an hour early for us if we want to beat thier regular crowds in the door by a bit more next time.
let me know what you gusy thinks.

availability of members and restaurants.
restaurants do a lot more business on sundays.
the days were also discussed before and it seems more members are around on saturdays for lunch than any other time during the weekend.

We have someone back from Saudi on the 20th. Let's give him a proper welcome home on the 27th!

who?
Jersey_TA
I'm in for the 27th, any time is fine with me.
- Justin
I am also good for the 27th for Jersey_TA to be able to come, anytime is good for me. I will be sure to take off that day from work.
JW :D
Sundays are bad. Saturdays are alight, as long as I have notice of like 3 weeks.
Also, would First State be back?
BTW I voted for the 23...it gives me 2 more weeks for my car to get ready.

We will be extending the invitation for First State to join us again, they are a good group of people...

memorial day is being celebrated on monday the 29th.
since that means most people will have a 3day weekend i expect no excuses :p
Traffic on that weekend is goign to be interesting for all the northern guys.
JW :D
yeah, thats sorta what i meant. With traffic, possible prior plans, or picnics etc, i dunno how many people will be around, but ill def. try.

Why not start a little later like 2 or so? At the Jan meet I wasn't hungry at 12 so I didn't end up getting food. I kind of felt bad since we were in a bar/restaurant but I usually eat breakfast later on the weekends. So I'm not ready for lunch until 2-3 on the weekends.

Im with Jeff, lets aim for something maybe later in the day, start it at like 2ish. That can give an extra 2 hrs for people living much farther then I.

i might be home May 15th, doing the Recuiter thing for a month, so the 27th would definitly be the best day for me

getting to the roadhouse right when they open is a part of our arrangement with them. due to the popularity of the place they aren't really in a position to hold out an entire section that would be packed with regular customers anyway.
we will look at adjusting the meet times for other monthly meets as they are arranged, for may it will have to stay a noonish affair :)

aight so who's responsible for calling me at 10am so i show up?

I say keep it the same time. It was pefect. We got right in, had a section to ourselves and had plenty of staff there to take care off us.
As far as the date. Anything but the 27th. How many people are really going to be around on the holiday weekend? Not to mention traffic might be a real pain in the ass for a lot of people.

Well, I prolly would have called and harassed you, but right after we got there some guy drove by twice in a GTP that looked just like yours (maybe not the same spoiler, but definitly lowered with pokemon lights. I figured it was you and that you would show up in the lot sooner or later when you figured out how to get in.

Her: Don't you curse infront of the kids. And stop imitating the "Sweedish Chef" from the Muppets.

Well, young boy stepped into that one face first.
Anyway, actualy biggest meet evAr was East Coast Nats.
But, the biggest meet in jersey ever, from Jersey only, was the Toms River Stop and Shop meet back in 2000 I belive, where we had some 45ish cars. I dont know who from here was there outside of Boon and James.
BTW, I vote April meet at Duke Island Park. Ian, we shall talk about this at the trucks.

Who is Eric?
NJSPEEDER

he was a moderator on thirdgen.org. his handle was Xenodrgn. i forget how old he was, very young, died of some sort of cancer.
he was super cool, very enthusiastic, and really loved cars. i talked to him a few times through PM's and on AIM, but that was the only time i ever talked to him in person.

Eric was a really good friend of mine. It was him, our friend Rich, and I who used to meet up at Stop and Shop every friday and saturday night with our gf's and we would all talk, bs, cruse around. I belive he had an 87 V6, as did Rich, and I had my 87 Z28.
One day on TGO, we put up a post asking if anyone in NJ wanted to come hang out, that they should come down to Toms River were there are a lot of cars and its mins from the beach. Well, it spread over to LS1.com as well, and to some other boards. I got there at 730ish, and the parking lot was flooded with Fbodies!! It was awesome
As for Eric, he passed away in 2002 due to a blood clot that reached the lung. He was feeling liek crap all week, and he went to the docotor. They told him he had pnemonia (sp?) and to take whatever pills, and get rest. Well, he still had school to go to. As he was walking around on campus, apparently the blood clot had reached his lungs. He was 18 years old. He was deffinatly one of the coolest guys I have ever met. His name is still on there as a Mod for the Northeastern board in TGO.
Tim, I did not know you were there.
