Basically I may be getting this, 24", the guy wants "$30 shipped / obo / any offer." I will have a 4l60e with transgo heavy duty shift kit, vette servo, kevlar/carbon fiber goodies, and a 3200 stall converter. Will this be fine? Or is the long narrow design a bad design? I was thinking I can mount it on the lower rad support... let me knwo opinions

That cooler should work fine, I think that's the type that Bill had on his '98.
I don't think mounting it on the lower rad support is a good idea though, if you ever ran over anything, that would be the first part taken out....

well I didn't mean the bottom of the lower rad support, i meant in the top of it... like, where the bottom of my A/C condesor used to rest... just figured that if it's in that area it'll get a good amount of air. Just wanted to make sure it'll suffice... I can figure out the mounting when it comes time. thanks

we looked at those coolers and most real trans shop builders will tell you the volumn of oil going through the cooler and the speed that it is traviling with the oem radiator cooler still in place will do nothing if it were used with a front of the rad alloy cooler and the chassis cooler together and the original by passed yep it will do the job otherwise no it does nothing jz

well ive never heard that and most people can show a drop in temprature if they have a guage. so i woldnt believe that. if tranny coolers didnt help by themselves along with the stock radiator one why would companys put them on the trucks from the factory they must do sumthin

He's not talking about the tranny cooler not helping, he's just saying that it won't get enough airflow in that location. I don't see why it wouldn't though, as that's where all the air from the air dam is directed.
For $30, it can't hurt Kasey - I would go for it.

$25 shipped ;)
and no offense but why the hell would you put it where SFCs go?! It's gonnd be somewhere in the nose/engine bay area... and somewhere where it'll get good airflow.
I had planned on bypassing the stock cooler, hadn't even thought of using both...
