Yesterday i broke down and gave in to finally buying a system for my denali. I got the pioneer deh-790BT head unit. (am/fm/cd with bluetooth and ipod hookup) i then got the JL TR650cXi speakers for the interior, the JL 800/1 amp and the JL 12 W7 in the JL enclosure. Last night i installed just the headunit and it already sounds better than the factory bose radio.

Now by this weekend i just gotta change the 4 door speakers, run the power wire and RCAs and finish the install.

i made some compromises with this system for now. first off, i dont like runing mono subs/sub. In a few months, it will be getting another JL 800/1 amp and another W7. Also at that time i'll be getting a JL 300/4 amp to power the interior speakers. I still have to buy a new clock spring for my denali so i can install my other steering wheel which has radio controls. Once thats in, i can hook up the IR interface and i'll be able to control the radio from the steering wheel. Video options for the truck will be a summer project.

sounds like a nice setup. why not one sub? its not easy to tell where bass is coming from and usually people suffice with one sub. unless your just worried about symmetry which is probably why i would run two subs

i like JL, i just think they are overpriced. in the mainstream, no one beats their quality though.

the shop in teh strip mall of my dads store, the guy that always comes to chat cars with me. he has a equinox and it used to have a jlw3v2 rated at 300 rms that he would pump like 600 or 700 to without a problem. i love that

ok, i finally got more done, well still working on it. just today i ran the power wire and remote turn on. now im taking a break then running the signals wires and making the connections. should be able to test it out this evening. Its not the most fun working on it in the parking lot, but oh well, i wanna get it done before next weekend. ill take some pics maybe with my cellphone and post up tonight.

im reviving this cause i want pics :) as for JL there is stuff thats just as good for the money, maybe better. I'd buy DD, AA, Audioque, and soundsplinter over JL anyday. not saying JL isnt good but its too mainstream and theres better subs out there for the money. lol my 15" SS RL-p was a more SQ oriented sub but was ridiculously loud.
