figured i give you guys a heads up
About 2 weeks ago right before i left for vacation i took $20 out of the atm at TD Bank off 35 in woodbridge.
Got home from vacation and checked my online banking.. someone came behind me (not sure exactly how they did this) and took $700 out and then another 40 of my checking account...
Filed a dispute with TD and made a police report and found out that apparently this has happend to a bunch of people at the same bank around the same day...
Suspect is a white male about 18-25 years old about 5'8ish with a baseball cap .. shaggy lighter brown hair..
crazy stuff guys.. just be careful.. at any ATM for that mattter...\
Feel free to discuss lol
Another reason to pay for everything with CC, or avoid places that don't take them
My **** has been stolen before.. Nowadays I made it so it's impossible to take out money out of my savings account through an ATM, only in person via a teller. But I never do that either.

td banks atms are the worst. After you're done, it takes a few seconds before a screen pops up asking if you'd like to do more. If the person saw you type your passcode, they can get into your account easily. I see people walk away when this pops up all of the time, I always make sure to tell them too.

Wachovias used to be the same way.
I ALWAYS, ALWAYS hit the "cancel" button 5 or 6 times before I walk away.

Yup. Every time. Glad they gave you your money back.
Rules of thumb: If you go to use the ATM and there's someone hanging out near it, go find another one. If you go to use the ATM and someone insists on being in the vestibule with you, use another one. Scout the ATM before you go in for anyone hanging around. Easy to not be paying attention and have someone rob you after you walk out. Also, if there appears to be anything different or out of the ordinary about the part of the machine where your card is inserted (A different color, a part that appears to be added on, a part where it clearly looks like it doesn't quite fit and there's a gap between that part and the rest of the machine), don't use it and report it to the bank. One of the ways these scummers steal your info is with some type of scanner, and if you're not paying attention, they are easy to overlook. Lastly, avoid the no-name machines in smaller mom and pop stores. Sometimes, these machines are placed there in an effort to launder money. This became big after 9-1-1; terrorist cells would use them to launder their money. Ill gotten cash ends up in your wallet via your bank account. These smaller machines are also not regulated by a bank and could be loaded with the aforementioned scanners.
