well the ins co called me today, they said the car is worth $9,000 apparently. i will be keeping the car but they have to get back to me on the salvage value so they know what to deduct. based on all your experiences, how does this all work? some people told me itd be like 500 bucks but i highly doubt that!

This happened with an explorer of mine. My salvage value for it was 350. It was a 98 fully loaded 56k on odo. Im not sure how they get the number but the truck was deemed worth 6700 they deducted the salvage amount I got 6100(my ded was 250).

It probably has something to do with its weight as scrap steel so 300-350 for a car is probably all it would be. Thats around what it seems to be for anything i've heard of that gets totalled. Can't say for sure though.

On a car with many usable parts, the value will be higher. Basically it will be the average price that a junkyard would pay for your car at auction.

It is usually 1/10th of the value. I have a buddy who recently wrecked his newer dodge ram truck, was a daytona edition. Blue book on the truck was 19k and change, he was told by insurance 2k to buy it back
