Wow. There isn't much to say about this except I'm sorry for what happened. Sounds like you had some very close calls but thankfully no one was hurt or worse. I assume you had insurance on these items so hopefully that provides some small ray of light on things. If I was in a better situation, I would come and help. Good luck picking up all the pieces.

I have seen the destruction and the emotional draining ted is going through. I have done as much as I can to help him anyway I can. Most of us have either done business or met ted and know the kind of guy he is. I have had the pleasure of not only having him as one of my best friends but also someone I could turn to to do business with and be confident in what I was getting. All of us that can should try to help ted and his family in this difficult time. I know some of us have including myself. I got lucky but one of best friends is in a time of greatest need. And I know ted has helped a lot of us in one way or another. Its time to return the favor for a member and friend in need

I really don't know what to say. I want to say hang in there, but I'm sure it's not enough. When gas becomes more available, and things settle down I'd like to help out. Maybe we can get a group organized and all head down together?

Ted, try and give us a good update on what's going on. Can people get in to where your house is? What roads are impassible? What kind of help are you looking for? Is your house and garage safe for people to be going into?

yukon xl gone insurance company picked it up, next on the list is the corvette [ tryed like hell to keep but no luck ] and waiting for the call for the pick up on the 72 monte carlo, the suburban is almost complete loaded with scrap and will be ready to go, 87 elcamino is at a shop being darined of all fluids, in process of getting parts and as soon as its taken care off of to a bodyshop to be completly redone, still need to get the 63 implala out of ortley beach and take that directly to the bodyshop, last one is the 96 impala ss to go
last stuff to due to the house is remove all insulation from under the house and remove the broken duct work, in garage upper sheet rock and the ceiling of the garage, but i need to clean out the parts first, pod is 98% clean just need to scrub a section of floor call for pick up has been made,
now for the stuff in garage, today and this weekend is going to be wash check if good save if not toss out.

I grew up in Ortley lived on Coolidge and 2nd ave after 25 years living on the island in one place or another I moved 10 years ago. It hurts to see what everyone is going through, only made worse by seeing how so many are still struggling. Sorry to hear of your troubles even on a good day it is hard to be a car guy living on the beach bare metal rusts overnight and so many other challenges Sand is always on everything. I hope insurance companies are good to you and your family can soon get their lives back .

yes is sucks but it will make us as a family stronger,
almost all of the ocean black is gone, only a couple houses are still there that have made in but need alot of work, my dads house made in and its not too bad just the inside took a hit but the structure is perfect.... my house i am just waiting for the oil tank to be pumped out and the old oil hot water heater removed as well as the oil furnace,
i did buy the wife an 03 yukon xl 2500 135k and i was able to get an 04 2500 silverado 119k not really what i wanted but if both vehicles can last 2 years with out major work while we try to get back on our feet then i did good,
