Not the head stud nuts, the studs themselves.
And what did you use to seal the studs to block? |

used sime left over arp sauce. anyways going to go play with the alternator which in my opinion is like playing with traffic.. |
did some research and seems that eeryone runs 25%ud at 550 idle no problem.
i dont know why it isnt charging especially at 1000 idle. any idead anybody? |
Maybe you need a smaller pulley on the alternator so it should accelerate faster that way thus increasing thruster bearing output to compensate for the high idle with the shorter belt meaning less miles traveled per rpm revolution to overcome the low charge frequency
|
yes but im at 1000 rpm 25% of that is 250 so the belt is doing 750 rpm which is enough to handle stock alt pulley
im going to make sure i dont have any loose connections. |
is the alt exciter terminal seeing a signal?
|
Quote:
is that the one that goes up to the buse box? going to see if i get somewhere around 13 volts there and make sure its not battery voltage |
voltage just goes down .01 volts per second
occasionally after it would drop 2 volts it woul jump .5 volts nothing ever over 12.5 no dofference at 2k rpm |
so thats the output.. whats the signal at the exciter wire?

theres a plug going to the alt. Not the power output terminal.
It should have ignition ground and exciter, or a combination of those or even just one wire. That wire is controlled by the dash wiring/cluster in order to tell the alt when to switch the internal voltage regulator one. if that wire doesn't get signal, the alt wont put out voltage. |

what junction does that wite lead to. runs same path as the injectirs or battery cable.? know what i mean? |
yeah now that i recall i dont eemember plugging it in.
|
Sooo rather than make three post about it, go outside and check

well it was plugged but wire was ripped couldnt find it anywhere.
i see its red but where does it come from i want to drive thiss thing like now. im considering a tantrum... jk. |
Just splice in a wire from the battery hot.

i thought it was ecm controlled. will do so in a few |
As much as I would love to say yes, please don't do that.

This thread continues to deliver.
What are we talking about, this plug into the alternator? http://images.wrenchead.com/smartpag...DUS/PT1136.jpg |

thats the one. ltblow youre an ass lol i figured it wouldnt be that easy. |
if you screwed it up go down to the store and buy a new pigtail and splice it in. IIRC there are 2 wires. Brown is the trigger wire, the larger red one is voltage sensing. The big red one on the BAT terminal does the charging.
|
Some just have one wire

Yeah my 99 is a single red wire
