Getto scoops aint got **** on APC & Home-made block-off plates.

IROCZBeast 10-20-2005 06:20 PM

Back in the day when I went for my permit test I had to drive though the deep ghetto of Pateron.

Got some hard looks but it was fun especailly since my instructor was blasting Mr. Lonely on z100 and changing the lyrics to Mr. Horney at the top of his lungs. Won't forget that...

Lets all do some street racing on rt. 19 in Clifton/Paterson, its sorta an abandoned little highway that connects the parkway to rt. 80 right after rt. 46.

I think I have barb and some other LT1's in North Jersey beat on mods, and over-all money spent Â*

what you know about racing on 19?

thats went down in clifton all summer by us clifton kids. Â*Stop and Shop parking lot on broad street was the place to meet. Cops patrol once and a while but thats why I love my police scanner. Â*:)

I live in walking distance from 19 and Stop and Shop.

yea that was fun. we would get like 5-6 runs in and then stop for a bit then go back out again so the sherrifs dont get you.

there is another duct on the other side of that grille which both lead straight up into the dual snorkel intake...if you stand in front of my car when its running you can hear the air being sucked in. :D

Matt's is only cool because it's "ram-air" and weight reduction at the same time :)

Savage_Messiah 10-21-2005 12:01 PM

yes but when you're not on the track and your headlight is there, where's the function?

is that why after driving for a while you can pull over, pop the hood, and feel the intake manifold, and its just barely luke warm?

its still just pulling in cold air from behind the headlight..."Ram Air" doesnt really do anything unless youre going like 130+

with the headlight out, if oyu feel the intake after driving, its the same temp as outside air  its crazy

slasherbarb 10-21-2005 12:32 PM

damn...and i thought mine was ghetto...

PS- the inlet in my scoop is bigger than yours matt...so therefore...

my scoop>ghetto noheadlight ram air...

and i always have both headlight working biach!!!!

yours has to go up behind the bumper then turn again towards the engine, then turn again into the throttle body

mine goes straight in and makes one bend

im pretty sure mine would get more air.

and who needs headlights?

Firebird67dude 10-22-2005 01:31 PM

Wow. This is mad funny. So is anybody going tomorrow? Cuz i might have to break out the 93 slightyl modded LT1 that runs slower thasn stock(LOL) and show all of u wats up. Or the burban will take all u biotches out with no ram air at all. 02 stock suburban>all
