NJSPEEDER 12-08-2005 05:21 PM

if you can get it mounted safely and securely in the car it would count. teh rule is it has to be a full size seat, for an adult.

Savage_Messiah 12-09-2005 02:55 AM

i have a bag of zip ties in the garage... hehehehe

project89 03-23-2006 12:38 AM

on a turbo car if the wastegate is just an open dump pipe will that still pass tech?

NJSPEEDER 03-27-2006 03:25 PM

it will be able to get through tech fro our event. you may want to consult the NHRA rule book though, i am not sure what the safety requirements are for gates.

where in florida do you live? i know it is only about 15hours from daytona including stopping for sit down meals.
maybe you can get a crew of guys to come up from down there to make the trip worth while. :)

i just recently drove from Daytona Beach FL to North jersey, 1100 miles and it took me 14 hours so stop making excuses!

NJSPEEDER 04-01-2006 04:30 PM

put your tires up to 50psi all the way around, jump on RT95 north, and set the cruise at 70. you will be here in no time :)

70? are you kidding me, that would take almost 20 hours to get here.

NJSPEEDER 04-01-2006 07:11 PM

1100 miles @ 70mph = 15.71 hours.

is the calculator on the space station going bad or something?

coming home from the rolex24 at daytona last year we went 70-80 the whole way and made it in about 14hours. there are stretches of 95 that you can easily get away with 80+ depending on traffic too if you wanna make even better time

i did this trip 6 times so far and from my experience if you just do 70 the whole entire way it will take you longer. you forgot about the stops and traffic that you will hit unless you drive at night.

NJSPEEDER 04-01-2006 07:29 PM

just have to time when you go through the DC area and the jacksonville area. the rest of the trip i never really had any traffic problems.
jacksonville only sucks because of the eternal construction.
as far as the stops go, i stop for a meal and pee break at the end of each tank of gas. i don't usually eat in the car unless i am in a big hurry.

yea jacksonville blows anytime when the sun is up. and i always get stuck in VA too where the highway is all curvy and stuff. it seems like there's always an accident there...

NJSPEEDER 04-02-2006 05:53 PM

last time i was on my way to daytona it took an hour to clear the about 15 miles through jacksonville. it was an f'ing mess. unfortunately any path that could avoid that strectch of rt95 woudl involve going 2+hours out of the way, so you are kinda screwed either way.
