Very clever guys. I'm a member of the club Dangerous Obsessions and stumbled accross your banter here this afternoon. I'd like to make it clear to those of you confused that we believe a "custom car club" is not just about the cars themselves, how fast they are, or how unique the modifications are. Our interests are clearly different than yours. One man's LT1 could be another man's 15" American Racing rims. Nowhere on our site do we make outrageous claims about our 1/4 mile times, how many races we've won, or how much better our cars are than others. That is not what we are about.
Our members gather together every week as a group of people with a common interest; customizing cars. Our members range from automotive technicians, to 18yr old college students, to guys old enough to be their father. We all have a good time. When problems arise, we help people. We had a member drive 200 miles to help another member repair a flat tire up in New York. We gather all the time to work on eachothers cars when help is needed. Last fall we raised a couple hundred dollars for Hurricane Victims by hosting a completely free car show. We only invite "good" people into our club. Im not going to state my opinions on F-Body cars because I don't believe that would be appropriate. What I will say is that I am supportive any car club out there, be it an online club such as this or an organized weekly club such as mine. If you were to see the name of NJFBOA being dragged through the mud on a Mustang Forum, I'm sure you would feel the need to react as well. Best of luck with your cars in the future, gentlemen... I just hope you have the decency to keep the online disrespect to a minimum. BTW, I own the Intrepid that "a middle aged, white shirt, black tied boss of a company gets to drive to sales meetings" |
dude calm down, we stated our thoughts and u stated urs, now if we wanted to drag ur name thru the mud, id throw it on the flame board of PA************.net
|
Im calm and I thought my post made that clear. I just want you to understand how unnecessary it is to flame a group of people you know absolutely nothing about.
Id also like to extend an invitation to any of you guys who would like to come to our show on the 17th of June at 5pts Community Volleyball Ctr on rt41 in Deptford/Washington Township. We will have plenty of parking and quite a lot of awards to give out plus a ton of freebies! We've had a few F-bodys at our past shows, it would be nice to see a few more! |
Gaze does have a point though.I assume almost all of the members on this board would love to have a late 4th gen ls1 ws6 or SS, but not everyone can afford one, so we all are happy with we got, even if we love what we have, im sure there was a time when we enjoyed what we did have previous. Before i got my ss i was driving a caddy STS, certianly not considered a performance car at the time. And back in '98-2000, i was in a car club, a local club, called Killer FX, our members included my STS, a 76 bronco, 95 blazer, 97 chrysler LHS(headers, prowler computer, lowered etc), 96 mystic cobra mustang, 98 mustang GT convert, and 96 honda civic. we really just hung out, went to local cars shows, hit the track a few times, but then members moved away and the club dissolved. My first car was a 73 dodge coronet 4 door, i loved it, till i found my 88GTA, and i moved on from there.
Also when we(f body owners) hear we're getting bashed, we do act quickly and dont really think, here, Gaze was very calm and stated his points without jumping to conclusions or making up accusations. However mustang boards almost always have it out for camaros and firebirds so finding that on a stang board wouldnt be unexpected. Either way, everyone involved in the conversation must admit, some people, domestic or import drivers, get carried away with certain mods like decals and additional lighting, but thats a known fact. It all comes down to personal preference and to each their own. |
:werd: well said by the both of you. but one guy drives 200 miles to help sum1 fix a flat? kinda absurd if you ask me...

Gaze, no offense, but i dont find decals and rims considered to be "modifying". the list of "mods" are simply rediculous, and honestly, in my opinion a total waste of internet space.

thats uncalled for. if you dont have anything nice to say...you know the rest. gaze, I commend you for staying level headed while at this site. I can see both sides of the story here. some people dont give a rats ass about going fast. some people cant afford to buy their dream car. so what do they do? they take what the have and the build off of that. Graphics may not be everyones cup of tea, but have you ever tried to lay them out and actually apply them to a car? its not easy to pull it off and have it look good. I for one will never talk down to a fellow auto enthusiast. If you like honda's or plymouths or what have you, thats fine by me because in the end, it doesnt affect me in the slightest. Stop back here closer to the date of the car show and remind us about it. but dont be suprised if a bunch of camaros and firebirds show up :) |

why cant we all just make fun of a rival mustang group? oh hell, even my Jeep! but for everytme one of us types something like that it makes us seem just a little less classy and a little bit more ignorant. |
what happened with the kid was ignorance. he didnt know chevy made a 302, so that wasnt his opinion, but his own knowledge. You were being VERY ignorant when you insulted them and said they cant get a better job than burger king! thats just flat out degrading
I am simply trying to point out that no one has any room to make fun of another car club. If you dont like it, you dont have to make your opinions heard, especially when the owner of the club is a member here now. If you dont like it, you dont have to deal with it. Yes you are free to say whatever you wish, this is america and this is the internet, but just remember that when you post on here as a member, your actions reflect upon the entire club. please choose your words wisely. |

How did you even find out about us and the original post?¿?

actually a friend of the club (who is doing some t-shirt work for us) was doing a google search for the clubs website address and had this thread as one of his results. He emailed me the link and I figured I'd chime in.
I'll say it again... we are a very open minded club. You will see my car club at Motorcycle Monthly shows, Latin Cruisers Shows, Wildwood Shows, as well as Tunerfest, Hot Import Nights, and NOPI. I understand that you don't enjoy "rap music and video games." It doesnt hurt my feelings in the least bit to hear your opinion. Im sure there is, however, a more productive way you could spend your time than sitting online mocking a car club that has the same core interests as your own. I'm a member of DodgeIntrepid.net (an online club very similar to this) and I understand there will always be a few people who feel the need to flail their freedom of speech rights. To all of you, I simply say... do what you like. |
Ian thank you for showing that not all of us are as ignorant as they say other groups are.
Did that make sense? lol... it makes sense in my head... |
