Even though the assault weapon ban has been lifted, you can't own an assault weapon, but you can search online to find out what you can own. There are certain things that consider a weapon an assault weapon, if you have 2 or more of these features your weapon is considere an assault weapon and illegal. My USP Tactical is half an assault weapon. The threaded barrel makes it so. Also I have the hi-cap 12 round mags, which under the AWB ban, werre considered illegal. Idk about the stuff for rifles or shotguns though. Also you can't have a handgun with more than 15 rounds. Once again I'm not sure about the cutoff for rifles and shotguns.

99% sure that the cutoff for shotguns is 4 shells. I remember my uncle having to put a plug in one of his that held 8 shells total.

Well I know the pump I have is 2+1 and my father has a 30-06 that is a 5+1. I think 5 is the limit for a detatchable mag. If its a fixed mag it is allowed to hold more. Don't quote me on any actual numbers cause I'm just guessing.
