yup...lifting from the upper rad. support

ar0ck 08-11-2006 03:04 PM

Impressive, I knew you drop it from below, but never would have guessed the upper rad. support would work for a lift spot. Thats a good thing to know.

Tsar 08-11-2006 03:06 PM

so um..what are u sticking in there? its not just a stocker is it?

JL8Jeff 08-11-2006 07:24 PM

Great progress! If you still need help tomorrow post back up and PM me your phone #. I'll cruise up when I drag my butt out of bed. You picked a great weekend weather wise to do the swap.

project89 08-11-2006 07:27 PM

yea it worked so far, but i did crunch it up a decent amount...cant tell if it bent the actual framework of the rad. support but the "lips" of it are gunna need a bfg before i put the rad. cover back on

yea did well until about 3pm(ended up starting around noon)...then i had lunch and slowed down quite a bit.

However, i did manage to muscle the old motor off the k-member and slap the new one on, bolt up the acc. bracket, all the misc. sensors blah blah blah so the whole assembly is all ready to get bolted up and in tomorrow

Pics from about 7:30-8:00:

and of course a HUGE thank you goes out to UBG for givin an extra hand when i needed it to wrestle that fuggin trans onto the new motor

FOR TOMORROW:

I may need an impact gun and i definately need an 18mm half-inch drive socket(my 18mm socket got jammed on my impact)

To do list:
-slide front subframe under car
-drop car on subframe
-bolt subframe in
-wire new motor
-install radiator and hook up all coolant lines
-make a run to the parts store for the pcv line that runs from the valve cover up to the throttle body
-drop rear
-drop fuel tank
-install walbro pump
-re-install fuel tank
-bolt in new rear
-go get my new driveshaft
-bolt up exhaust
-fluids and start tuning

:sigh: gunna be another long day

project89 08-11-2006 09:25 PM

j0n 08-11-2006 09:28 PM
