350, 355 or 383? decisions decisions. I could buy another really decent car for the amount I could spend :-(

I still want a 396 because it sounds cool

Throw your old motor on a stand in your garage or somewhere and take your time to diagnois it and re-build it for the spring/summer.

I know that is easier said then done though cause that involves a lot of patience, time and money.

I think it all kinda comes down to how much you really love your car.

i think nick pretty has it with what he said. find a cheap stocker toss it in there put your engine on a stand and tear it down find out what happen and either rebuilt what you have or built a stroker. thats your best best i think. this way you can take your time and get it done right cause you'll still have your car but at the same time working on a nice motor.

just make sure you check all the obvious things first before you rip out the motor. good luck with it

Getting another car doesn't make much sense because you'll want to do the same mods to it. So I would get a short block or good used motor and get the car running, then build your motor.

I dunno why your thinking about dropping a 383 or shoehorning a 396 into there when you said that your screwed with money earlier....

:stupid: **** i already went thru all this....and discovered that modified engines are not what you need, ya need a stock untouched motor to go 12s!

Hey pampered, one of the best ways to keep you from scratching your roolbar is wrap some painter (blue) tape around it, thats what we use at work to keep us from scratching the gelcoat on the surfaces we walk on. As for the engine portion of this thread, Im vote for you finding another smallblock, and just dump it in there for now, and hope your other block isnt too badly scored. so you can have a block you can really tinker with and not be time constrainted.

He doesn't need to search to much, cause like i said we got one out on a stand that ran pretty stout when it was pulled. We are not that far since new jersey is not that big of a state, its up to him though.

Only reason its for sale now it Rob can't make up his mind on what motor is going into what car with what transmission....
