i paid like 1150 for my QTPs w/y pipe, no complaints other than about the owner..

JL8Jeff 01-29-2007 05:03 PM

I'd probably max out around $500 for a set of stainless headers. And who keeps a car long enough to rot out a set of headers?

ar0ck 01-29-2007 05:18 PM

$725 for a set of QTP race long tubes. You get what you pay for and stainless isn't a joke.

Rob WS6 01-29-2007 06:14 PM

Thats NOT a bad deal. Consider Hooker Supercomp LT's for thridgens are about $700 coated. Then you need the Mufflex y-pipe which is $3-400. So theres your $1000-1100 and you still dont have stainless headers. Do the math!

j0n 01-29-2007 06:20 PM

ala-...whatever your name is those are some baaadass headers

I've got coated pacesetters for over a year... no corrosion =)

alamantia 01-29-2007 08:32 PM

thats cool about the headers, i havent seen any personaly, but it may be because ive seen a lot of ****** hooker jegs jobs for like $129 a pair, i have had stuff HPC coated before, I havent heard of anyone useing those guys lately, i guess Jet is better

GM preformance has a booth at the Autorama carshow in Detriot Michican March 9th 10th & 11th and they are paying to have the pro-mod shipped to be in their booth with a concept 4th gen. As first we thought it was BS but they called today to get the paint code of the orange so they can paint the new 4th gen that color, I want to get a plane ticket and a hotel to go with them.

WayFast84 01-29-2007 08:33 PM

do you mean 5th gen?

alamantia 01-29-2007 08:37 PM

yeah, my bad 5th gen

V 01-29-2007 08:41 PM

Dude, im closing on my first home this week (which i cant afford) and my brain has done shut down on me.. also, the info I am getting from my brother has been in dribbs and drabs, last week, when i first heard of this, I thought he was ****in with me, now im looking into a cheap flight, i told them that if this was so real then to have GM comp plane tickets and hotel rooms, right? Whatever though, id go just to be part of that for a weekend. Joe, the driver, is already in the process of setting setting up dates to run the car including the PC richards night of thrills at Raceway, prior to that he will be renting out Atco on weekdays with two other drivers and hopefully even doing some passes on regular saturdays at Atco and maybe even a sunday or two this spring at Raceway, if everything goes smoothly dont hesitate to come out and see us, if you see the car in the pits, swing by introduce yourselves, we apreciate all the support, all of us involved are quite excited! my brother will be there with his blown 68 camaro, my father with his tubular chassis 63 split window vette and hopefully me in my fathers old SS/DA 69 camaro, pending on my financial situation at the time, if not, ill be in my 02 z28 running 12's zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

WayFast84 01-30-2007 08:01 PM

Ok now that i think about it, for the headers, y pipe its not bad, for people with real jobs and real performance mods, How ever I just dont see how they can be so expensive considering you can get a running car, that the headers are ment to be for, for less. O well i guess its for people who have a decent thirdgen, but not a drag car, and are waiting for a vette or something.

You ought to see some of the other stuff out there. N.O.S. parts and such for old rides can be disgustingly expensive. Like $3000 for a quarter panel, $14,000 for an induction setup, etc.

He's a kid. He doesn't realize what a long, hard path a car guy has to travel.

1984camaroz28 01-30-2007 09:20 PM

i spent 4k on my ETP HEADS and 1100 on my kooks so my headers where still cheaper
