i know but last time i took it there they could not get a read i was just gonna buy a scanner but the obd1's are hard to find for some reason. and they are pricey :p ... autozone uses obdII and it will get a linking error unfortunately, i need to find someone with an OBDI

advance auto has them but there all jackasses and don't know how to use them...Btw i know EVERY southe jersey advance employee being I used to work at one...so you'll have to ask for the ALDL connector and the cirgarette lighter power source connector then you just follow the screen take it inside and the give you a full page print out...free, and what ever you do...NEVER buy electronics there

so the obd2 will work on my car?

bubba428 03-13-2007 11:47 AM

no...there scaner has different wires that plug into it...like a computer harnes...it will read both obd1 and obd2 depending on what year make and model you select...

oh ok... i will go there when the light goes on again... its just weird because the light goes on and off... hasnt been on in a week or more

bubba428 03-13-2007 01:51 PM

well you can go when its of too...the code stores in a history bank and can be read anytime

oh ok awesome... it could have been misfiring because i took the spark plug wires off the ignition coils and dusty rust poured out of the wires :p so im either going to clean them up or just replace all coils, wires, and plugs

Replace the wires and plugs first (especially if they are the original ones!!). You can clean the terminals on the coils and they might be fine.
