Tint laws are seemingly more defendible form a safety standpoint. It hinders vision, and more importantly, prevents a police officer from seeing inside a car at a stop. That could be very dangerous to them.

yet tint will prevent my interior from fading, which would decrease the value of something i own... i can deffinatly see it from an officers point of view of not being able to see in but i think we should be allowd to have a light tint like 25% at max just to keep it cooler inside

Anyone ever think that if they take away the front plate, will they still charge us the same fee? That should be the main question here. One would think the fee would be reduced, because you're now only getting one plate. But being this is NJ, I don't see them giving us a discount when we register a new car. They'd probably still charge us the same fee and make more money off having no front plates. I'm surprised they haven't done it already.

Oops... didn't see that point already made by Tim.

I'm sure they would still charge the same amount, and honestly, I wouldn't really care. I would consider it a privilege to not worry about getting a ~$50 ticket for not having the plate hanging on the front of my car.
