As for hitting, if a opposing player is coming out of his zone along the boards, shate towards him and at the last second turn your body in the direction he is skating before hitting him. You just want to knock him off the puck, you dont want to take him head on or even perpendicular, you risk injury and a boarding call. Center ice hits are where you line a guy up and take him head on if you have the balls, and if he has his head down hit him harder so he wont do that again.
