69 chevelles came in purple?
Your 4th gen will eventually go up in value, that chevelle wasnt always worth what it is worth now. If you could do a clean swap and the chevelle is legit id say do it, i dont know too many people looking to off a 69 numbers matching chevelle for a new car, so somethingsounds a little fishy there, but go for whatever makes ya happy Id want to keep my 4th gen because im the only owner and it means a lot to me to keep that car, but id trade ir for the right trade, had it been a 67 chevelle 138 car my **** would be gone faster than i could finish this post. |
That's basically what I did last year. I sold my 96 SS White hardtop(pretty rare without t-tops) and bought the 70 SS396 L78 Camaro(#'s matching engine and GM of Canada paperwork). I missed the 96 so I sold my 88 4Runner and bought the 2000 SS. I know someone with a red or orange 69 L78 Chevelle for sale that is matching #'s but I don't think it has any paperwork. I think he was looking to get in the mid to high $30's price range but I can't remember for sure. L78 cars will always command stronger prices than the other 396 cars so grab it if it's real.

sell the nova instead. there arent many WS6 formulas out there either.....last year offered, not a very popular option. each year there are less and less around. if you want a drag strip warrior, how can you go wrong with a 396/375? enter in pure stock or FAST., and youll have more fun with that then bracket racing the nova.

Yes.

It has all the "SS" badges (not big deal really), and hood. There is no A/C, which is consistent with the L-78 option. Power disc brakes upfront look to be original to the car. Definitely a big block radiator in it. Buckets with a Hurst T-handle (not original) poking up from the floor, no console in sight. Typical aftermarket 3-gauge setup hanging under the dash. Looked like an Eddy performer RPM intake with gold Moroso air cleaner and chrome Moroso tall valve covers with the "T" bolts:rofl:. The engine almost looks small in that engine bay. Off to the garage to finish my Nova........The Chevelle got my juices flowing again for the Nova. Chris |

Did you ever secure a set of rims for autox? If not pm me I have a set of 17x9.5's OZ's for sale with toyo ra-1s. Tires are pretty used up, but not dead yet. Chris |
yeah, i found some new imitation Z06s without tires. come next year im going to try a cheaper slick for racing, instead of 710s. maybe shaved vics.....we'll see.

Warranty replacement block (should have a CE code on it) will hurt the value regardless of documentation to back it up. So adjust your price accordingly.

I dont know correct me if I am wrong but I dont seem to see Firebirds and trans am's from 99-02 going down in value anymore. The street values have been taking over any bluebooks value's especially on the 01-02 birds. My bird has been getting offers from 15g's the highest being 25 g's for a completely stock 123,000 mile drivetrain. All it has are engine bolt ons and clean customizations through out the car. Yet the car looks like it was built that way. And still runs as strong as it was new. I have been offered trades for it as well even a numbers matching clean 70 351 Mach 1 mustang. I was not giving up my bird for neither money nor trade. I LOVE MY BIRD. I really liked the red mustang I have always wanted one, but I rather by it and have both but it was to expensive. This is all up too you and how much sentimental value and money value you hold and will get for that bird. I know sometimes we want it all but bottom line is we cant.

chris - what did you decide?
your car isn't a real ws6? its a real ws6 hood, real emblem and real raised airbox:drool: and koni's. maybe its a ws6 1LE:nod: |

I know what it takes (time, money, effort) to do an old musclecar properly from the ground up. My Nova has been a long time in the making and a correct numbers type resto is even more intense I am sure. You just don't get a shot a real piece of automotive history very often, that's my attraction to the car. |
