you guys complain way too much. why is everyone so against valentine's day?? i had a wooooonderful valentine's day. the doorbell woke me up in the morning and there were 2 dozen roses outside =) then ted had work and i had school at night, but he headed to long island while i was supposed to be in school. i decorated my whole apartment and set up all this cute stuff, left the apartment dark except for kitchen lights dimmed on the adorably set table and red twinkly lights in my bedroom. made him a cute vday basket with all cute things and all candy he likes and stuff. also made a heart shaped cake mmm... i went to my first class, but skipped my second so i would show up back at the apartment earlier than he expected me and he was very surprised. he was already making dinner and had wine waiting for me. all in all it was an awesome day =)

Which it sounds like an awesome day!

The reason why guys complain so much, is why do they have to designate a day just to do something special? I rather do it in the middle of aug out of the blue when it is the least expected... Then again, Im a sap and think it is more "special" to do it then rather than on a day made up to make money off of love.

Thats the way I used to do it, and it was much more appreciated that way.

I complain about it because I'm a single and very bitter person. So bah humbug to all the mushy stuff. Its a bull day when a lot of people are around you spending time with their significant others and your reduced to hanging out with the guys (which isn't a bad thing, it just sucks being left out, so to speak)

You are way to young to be bitter.

I understand where you're coming from, saying that it's more special when it's unexpected and i can understand that it might put pressure on you guys, but if you're comfortable with the person you're with, both of your expectations are usually in sync so that no matter what you do together or for each other, it's special.

sure i think you should respect your sig other and celebrate your love every other day of the year, but valentine's day is an excuse to be extra mushy and flaunt it! :)

Technically I was single Val day... but I gave a girl I been talking to some chocolate covered strawberries and she baked me cup cakes lol. I like Val day though, since I own a Hallmark store and all :D

I just sent some flowers and chocolate to my wife at work - nothing fancy or over the top.

Haha, they complain because there are only, oh, say, 364 more days to show how much you love someone. And hey, when people cheat on their boyfriends (or girlfriends) so much, it almost starts to negate "love" when people aren't really true, or haven't been in the past. Some people just can't make up their minds, I guess. Temptation island... hahahaha.

Oh well, I still bought in V-day myself this year.

I was blessed with a girlfriend who doesnt like to celebrate Valentines Day. But we did plan on taking a vacation that weekend to DC and Baltimore. This trip is really a giant gift to eachother since we didnt get eachother christmas gifts. Thats how it started. Then since our birthdays are within a 2 month, and in between them is our Anniversery and Valentines Day, we figured we would just make it one big vacation for the both of us, to get out of the house and take a trip.
Its nice being mushy every once in a while. I havent been this happy for a loooong time, so I guess Ill enjoy the mushy stuff for a bit longer. :)
