ahh cool im in west long branch.. and that only a 305 tbi.. too loud on an LT1 with the LT4 hotcam?
|
the delete kit still allows for the dual exit on both sides.
|
sweet. it sounds really nice. for 42 bucks cant beat it lol. im definatly gonna get it as soon as i can. how does it sound under full throttle? big thanks too man for the info/help
|
yeah 42 bucks is very nice. i haven't heard it under full throttle, string's car. the video doesn't really seem to give you the low tones that it throws out too. it was fun doing the video though so no problem there.
as for an lt1....the napa catolog states under the ls1 application that it recommends the kit for race use only do to high noise levels. i think it would sound amazing but it might be significantly louder at idle, which could end up being annoying. i think cammed would sound soooo dirty. as long as you have a 3 inch inlet and 3 inch outs, i'm sure with the shop discount you wouldn't get a half tank for what its worth, so why not try it out? the old muffler removal can be quite a time, so good luck! |
Sounds pretty good it is a little raspy but so is the Loudmouth..
Considering the price difference of that and the Loudmouth that is a hell of a deal... For the record Englishtown now looks for an Oval shaped muffler or what would resemble a chambered muffler during tech inspection.. Any cylinder shaped resonators ect will fail.. They are also starting to fail the single chambered Flowmasters to.. A friend of mine has 2 single chambered Flowmasters on his Firehawk and they just started giving him crap about those now, so he has to replace them with something else.. |
so lets say i were to get this delete kit and put a resonator on the ipipe would they let me go with that? wait so they dont allow loudmouths at the track then for muffled races??
you think it would sound just a tad louder on the l98 compared to the 305's? btw thanks for the vid 8-) |
Yea - E-town is very strict with noise. You can't run a resonator as your only muffling device there. You must have a chambered muffler, or they won't let you run on muffled days.

i think an l98 would throw some more noise out the tailpipes. i know this is illegal and shouldn't be done, but i would so weld a muffler case around the delete pipe. make it look legit. its not so loud that you would think otherwise, but it would get a second look.
videos/pics...as long as i have the time i really don't mind. i enjoy it but i really need to get good editing software. windows media maker is weak, especially when trying to add music clips. it doesn't happen. |

They are very familiar with all of the F-body exhaust tricks, bullet mufflers, cut-outs ect... I have had plenty of other people try helping plead with them even when there was cars running that day that were alot louder than mine.. They look for Oval shaped Mufflers since almost all chambered Mufflers are Oval shaped, which is why they have started giving people trouble with the single chamber Flowmasters.. Englishtown also has a D.b. meter set-up on the track so if they decide your car is to loud while warming up your tires in the burn out box or leaving the line.. They will tell you that you can not run anymore when you pick up your time slip... I have seen that happen quite a few times even in competitions.. Last year they wouldnt allow a guy to run because he was wearing a tank top the guy had to go to buy a T-shirt so he would be allowed to race.. |

ya i hope the flowmaster i have now is big enough. i'm gonna open it up, gut it and hopefully it'll be big enough to go over the delete pipes.
