Either way I'm cheering for the Rangers in that series, I HATE the Pens with a passion. |
It was 5-3? I thought they split...hmmm my bad lol
The Pens are going to win that series but I hope the Rangers drag it out and beat the hell out of the Pens on a physical level. |
Lots of hate towards the Penguins. lol. I would have thought most NJ hockey fans, at least the ones that live in central or southern NJ would hate the Rangers. No offense to Rangers fans, but it was great to see Jagr get booed at the Mellon Arena in game 2 of the series. I can't believe he left so much history behind in Pittsburgh to play for another team. I mean it was Lemieux and Jagr all the time. Plus, he was bad mouthing Crosby and Malkin, saying they aren't as talented as Lemieux and himself. To me Lemieux will always be number 1 for the Penguins, but I think Jagr bit off more than he could chew when he said that. I can't believe Shanahan left the Wings either to go play for the Rangers. Some of my past favorite players are on the Rangers. This could be said about a lot of teams, but I am starting to see a trend with the Rangers. They generally have older players on the team. Playing for the Rangers is almost like a retirement plan for some. Messier, Gretzky, Jagr (Assuming he stays with the Rangers long enough), same goes for Shanahan.
I am just not a Ranger fan. Although, I must admit, Lundqvist was really good in game 4 with saves. Maybe others would disagree, but I watched the majority of game 4 where the Pengs lost and they didn't seem to be too into the game like the other games. Malkin's penalty shot looked so nonchalant and they were making crappy mistakes with having too many people on the ice at one time. Hopefully the home advantage will work Sunday afternoon so Pittsburgh could wrap this up. I am also hoping the Sharks win against the Stars too. I'd rather see Detroit vs the Sharks, because I think Dallas is a stronger team than the Sharks so far. Hopefully Detroit cankeep their momentum. Now that the Sharks won tonight, that will give the REd Wings more practicing and rest time. |

Agreed.

I know some think Crosby is a better actor than player. That may be true, but he does get the job done with his acting. Its also why I said Lemieux will always be number one in Pittsburgh for however good Crosby becomes. Go Penguins !!! |
Well, one step closer for the Penguins. It was a good game by both teams in Pittsburgh. The Rangers' goalie was great again. Lets see how Pittsburgh does against Philly. Theres a big rivalry between the two of them right?
Man I hope I see Pittsbugh and Detroit verse each other. It would be interesting since they haven't versed each other all year long. |
id love to see the nhl get new ****ings refs who actually do know their asses from their elbows and make a HIGH STICK CALL WHEN DRURY IS ****ING BLEEDING ALL OVER THE ICE
****ing ridiclious. im not watching any more hockey till next year |

You're right about Crosby. I myself don't see the big fuss about him and thats coming from a Penguins fan. I actually like Malkin and Staal and Fleury the best on the team. But as far as the whole thing about fake fans, can't the same be said about the Devils? I mean I thought I heard that attendance was horribly bad a year or two ago. Then when they make it to the first round playoffs this year, I was not there, but I would have guessed that people were packed into the new rink at Newark. Like I said, I am not sure about these things, but I thought thats what I've heard from some other hockey fans I talked to.
I am not nor ever been to Pittsburgh myself, which accounts for me not knowing that about Pens fans. I would have guessed that there would be a legacy of fans that would watch the games because of the franchise's history with players like Lemieux. Guess not. But I've always been a Pittsburgh and Detorit fan since I started watching back in the early 90s. I'll admit I liked Detroit initially because they were winning a lot and had a great list of players. But unlike most people that like flavor of the month teams, I actually stuck with liking them, even when they lost. As for Pittsburgh, Lemieux is who got me hooked. My problem with any NY teams is that they always flaunt how good they are and play it off like they always have the best teams in most sports. Thats the way I see them. Its a big turnoff for me, but thats just my opinion. I mean the Yanks with their rich history of great players, as well as the Giants, especially since winning the super bowl, and the Rangers getting Gretzky and Messier at one point. The Knicks are a different story though. Ewing was like the last good player I remember hearing about. NY just flaunts too much for me. Even the city itself. I've been there a decent amount of times, and I fail to see how its conisdered the best city in the world. But thats another story. I am not trying to upset NY fans or NY people. Its just my opinion. I know people think awful things about NJ. |
Devils have made it to the playoffs for a few years now ;)

BUT at least Dallas won, their my second fav team. mike modano is so dreamy  also Henrik Lundqvist's brother Joel Lundqvist is on that team. GO DALLAS |
Devils have a fanbase in lock. It'll never grow or die off. Just geographicly stuck between 2 monster markets with the Rangers and Flyers(Same goes for the Isles). Their playoff home games had about 4000-5000 Ranger fans in attendence as well, have to take that into account :)
Either way I'm a diehard hard Flyers fan and will say the Pens suck till the day I fall over :D |
I don't want to say wow, but Wow. I can't believe my two favorite teams out of the whole league are going to verse each other for the cup. This is so damn cool. My second year back watching hockey and I get to see this. Part of me had a feeling about this, but I got a little scared when Dallas was starting to win the games. Turco was an excellent goalie for the whole playoffs. I hope Detroit gets Franzen back for the Pittsburgh games.
It should be cool to watch Zetterberg and Crosby go face to face. Malkin and Datsyuk as well. Although I like both teams, part of me wants to see Pittsburgh win it just because its been such a long time for them. But whoever wins is fine with me. Its also cool that both teams have never met each other all season long and they don't seem to encounter each other a whole lot in the past. I can't believe Dallas fans tonight were saying "lets go Penguins". Funny, but sort of being poor losers. So who do you guys want to see win between the two? I am not gloating about this, I am just happy to see my two favorite teams verse each other. I am so psyched for this. |
Go Wings. I hope Crosby and Frankenstein(Malkin) get swept.
|
I just love how a lot of people hate the Pens so much on here. I mean it doesn't bother me, but I never knew there was so much hate against the Pens. Like I said, I am good with whoever wins. And Yes, Malkin does have a Frankenstein thing going. lol. I hope Franzen comes back for the Pens series.
How does everyone generally feel about the Red Wings on here? |
I'm a die hard Philly fan, to root for the cross state rivals would be selling your GM car and pimping a Hon-duh
Screw the Red Wings too lol |
I am not trying to bash Philly but the Flyers haven't won a cup in around 25 years, right? I am asking, not trying to be a smart arse. I remember watching them with Lindros and Dejeurdan (however you spell his name). They had a good team back then. Its good you stick to your team through and through though. No offense, I am just happy Pittsburgh beat them as quick as they did. I could have seen that being a much longer series if Philly won 2 games. Whats your beef with Detroit though? I mean I understand the cross state rivalry.
|
I'm a Flyers fan, I wish harm and death to other teams. I'm not a touchy feely hockey fan where I like other teams. They're the enemy, period. :D
Now, the actual hockey fan part of me wants to see a good series. However, as talented as the Pens are I don't see them beating the Wings. The Pens had a relatively easy walk through the playoffs and weren't really frustrated much. The Flyers were able to get under Crosby's skin a little and it showed. I think the Wings are going to exploit the Pen's D. The Pens D played the Flyers perfectly, the Flyers love to crash the net and get goals like that...the Wings have snipers on damn near every line so the Pens D is going to see a totally different team. Fleury is going to have to be on his game or else it's going to be a quick series. |
Wings in 6
|
Well I wanted to avoid confrontation, but I really hate the Rangers and Flyers and I am happy Pittsburgh beat them both. I am okay with Dallas, but I am super happy Detroit beat Colorado.
It doesn't matter who wins the cup, both are the best this year. That would hurt my feelings if I were the Flyers and got whooped 6-0 by the Pens for the last game. There I said it. Now there are going to be arguments on here. But at least I tried to act nice about it at first. Now I am sure people are going to throw me team histories and facts back and forth telling me how the Pens suck. But you can't take anything away from Detroit. They are perhaps the strongest franchise in the sport. |
I'm not really going to argue with you since you know nothing about the sport and haven't followed it years(by your own admission). Nothing like a bandwagon fan.
I didn't even try to start an argument about anything so why were trying to be nice "at first"? I was kidding about hating other fans hence the ":D". I'm not sure where I was starting a confrontation. Your comment about not understanding how people can hate the Pens so much proves your clueless when it comes to the sport and rivalries. The majority of the board members are either Rangers or Devils fans with a few Flyers fans mixed in. They're all Atlantic Division rivals, NO ONE likes each other. Hell I even gave the Pens credit. How can anyone say the Pens sucks when they're in the cup finals? Anyway, I'm not hurting, the fact that the Flyers got the Conf. Finals after finishing in last place last year is fine by me...and it didn't take a bunch of #1 and #2 picks like some teams(can you figure out who I'm talking about?). It's one of the best turnarounds in NHL history, I'm good with that. I find it funny how Pens fans come out of the woodwork when they were nowhere to be found before last year...it's been a putrid organization for the last 4 or 5 years(hence the ridiculous amount of high draft pics on the team) for years and it took Mario to save the team from moving. I can't wait for next year already, the rivalry between the cross state teams has been reignited which is a great, GREAT thing for hockey. :) EDIT: Sorry if I came off as a douche but I had no intention of a confrontation nor an argument but since you want to act like you know what you're talking about after watching a few games you need to be put in your place. |
I'm rooting for the penguins
