The LS7 is a 7.0 if Im not mistaken. Both the 5th gen SS and Z28 will respectively have a 6.2 and 6.2 supercharged engine in them similar to the LS6. Just what Ive read.

The LS7 has more in common with the LS3 that will be in the Camaro then the LS2.
While the LS2 and the LS3 and LS7 are Gen IV Small blocks, the LS3 and LS7 use a new cylidner head design compared to the LS2's and the Gen III head designs are.
LS6 is a Gen III 5.7 liter V8 400hp
LS2 is a Gen IV 6.0 liter V8 400hp
LS3 is a Gen IV 6.2 liter V8 436hp
LS7 is a Gen IV 7.0 liter V8 505hp
LSA is a supercharged Gen IV 6.2 liter making 550hp+
LS9 is a supercharged Gen IV 6.2 making 638hp

Looks like 6.2 is the new 5.7.

Odd part is, the Gen V's will use direct injection, so they are looking at reducing displacement while maintaing current power levels, and increased fuel economy.
So the 5.7 COULD return. There is a large 5.X engines set up...
