did you do anything with the rears?

So I've been up for over 22 hours, and happen to run into my parents getting up for the day lol, and they totally forgot to tell me my calipers came in. all I gotta say is they are FTW. I cant believe how big they are. time to spruce them up ,and buy a new rubber gasket kit for the pistons, and go form there. Finally i have somethign to work on again.

Blact: What are you doing for rear brakes?

Blacdout96 12-16-2008 03:15 PM

the car originally had drums, i converted it to 93-97 Z28 disc. i have been thinking about the rear a little as well, but I figure it will be ok considering LS1 rear brakes were 1/2 bigger.

havent had much of a chance to find out. i may have had a fluid issue during my last track/autox. it has to do something, especially with better pads. the swap was easy. i have to flush my fluid again, and might need new hubs. then ill be able to tell better.

rears can be left stock if you have disc. you can upgrade to LS1 rears if you want, but look at how many 3rd and LT1/4th gen racecars there are with stock rear brakes. at most, just get hawk HPS rear and be done with it.

side note......ive PMed, called, and texted you. do you still want to get rid of your 4.10s???

I think $200-300 on narrowing a stock wheel beats the $3,000 for CCW's unless you get lucky and find a deal.

Here's a deal, move fast if you really want CCW drag pack for a C5 brake kit.
