3.3

BigRocsFirebird 01-13-2009 07:45 PM

Im normally there in the off season(spring and fall) and my parents do the weekend package deals where we leave the camper down there. Whenever I'm down there now you can't miss me because my dad's in a wheelchair thanks to the great medical technology we have. I remember you PMing me right before you left for school that I had somehow just missed you at the campground or something like that. I'm sure we've crossed paths before, just never knew it until now.

i have a traxxas nitro sport se, street race tires/offroad tires, upgraded throttle and steering, blue chrome wheels, when the 3.3 engine came out, i swapped it with the .15

when i got it, the guy said what i was doing was like puttin a cady motor on a trycicle. the truck has rediculous power, i have yet to find a glue to keep the rear tires on, thats how much power it puts out. unfortunately its not running, i need to do some electrical work and the tranny might be shot, but i want to get it running again.

BigRocsFirebird 01-13-2009 08:23 PM

i have the same problem it rips the tires of the rim and then the foam comes flying out haha. but its killing me i haveto get them running soon

sweetbmxrider 01-13-2009 09:13 PM

i have a couple. one "gas" one electric. i have these little rc copters that are so fun in the house. messing with the kittens and friends and such

TaKid455 01-13-2009 10:52 PM

I have a bunch of R/C vehciles. I used to play and race them before I could drive, play and race bigger toys. I used to race them at snowball mountain in oakridge if I recall.

Grasshopper II (my first one. won it at a free throw contest which I was technically under age for. I did know at the time back in around 92. I was 11)

USA-1 electric - this thing rocks but drains batteries like no tomorrow. often thought about getting the nitro version. My little cousin at the time thought he could stop it at full speed by standing in front of it. Truck - 1, cousin - 0. he fell on his butt and had a nasty bruise on his shin.

Clodbuster
Lunchbox - has working head lights, tail lights, blinkers, roof and running board lights. Pimp

Losi pro se - version just before that fat a$$ Brian Kinwald came into the picture

Optima pro
Lambo diablo
associate high speed style car. - light weight and a 7urn single motor along w/ low gearing yields nice burnouts and a really quick car.

I think thats it.

Funny this thread was made, I just started taking my stuff out after not using it for a couple of years. I have a Traxxas nitro Stampede. Dodge ram body that I painted viper blue with arctic white racing stripes, wheels, performance exhaust (on it when I bought it) and I rebuilt the engine. It has some balls, pulls the front wheels all the time.

looks good i'm going to take mine out tomorrow and get pictures of it but i was bored and i was thinking about my truck. so i wanted to see how many other people on the forum have one and maybe one day all go out and run them for fun.

madness410 01-14-2009 01:39 AM

i used to have a tyco RC, those were pretty cool.

lets race ur rc car against my civic..

69BirdX 01-14-2009 06:37 AM

Plans arent to bad the fly just landing. I have only tore the wing in a spot and broke a couple props. Im a bad flyer to lol. Maybe ill buy the stadium truck off my co worker. He use to race them.

I lived for R/C before I got my drivers' license. Of course, that was when Tamiya was king. Everything I had then I still have now...but in pieces.

First ride was a Hornet. Then I picked up a Fox that was in pieces for about $15. Turned out to be a steal as it had a Thorp diff. Then I got my Clod Buster, which went through at least three different transformations and even had a "custom" suspension lift. Then I bought the Nissan King Cab stadium truck. Jumped it right into a tree and shattered the front of the chassis. Got a new chassis and promptly did the same stupid thing.

A few years ago, I bought my oldest a Radio Shack Jeep, which prompted me to break the Clod out of moth balls so I could go out and play with him. I'll tell you what, Radio Shack has made some really good stuff for kids to get into the hobby; the kid has put that poor Jeep through some ridiculous torture and it continues to run.

Now? One of the zillion projects I have going (Between my real Jeep, the T/A, and the myriad of home improvements) is an R/C rockcrawler based on my Clod's old axles. We'll see how (Or if) it goes.

not to be a **** but i bet i can take you from 0-60.
as long as its on blacktop and hot and i heat my tires up to get traction.
shes got low end gears a killer out for holeshots. right now with cold
roads i can't give it more than 1/4 throttle without going sideways into
a doughnut. race for pinks? lol jk

69BirdX 01-14-2009 08:10 PM

I wanna see this race ha ha

BigRocsFirebird 01-14-2009 08:24 PM

this isnt no radioshack 8 year olds begginer R/C car lol i'll let you know when i have her running again. unless you have alot done to that civic like running 8s i shouldnt have anything to worrie about. if i have to i'll get my stage 5 model rocket motors and stick a few on the back for more thrust hah.

LTb1ow 01-14-2009 08:28 PM

My friend did that with an extra channel on his radio. Pretty cool little "mod" but you need to have good steering or well you end up with a rocket going all over...

BigRocsFirebird 01-14-2009 08:53 PM

yeah looks like it would be fun but i wouldnt do it with my truck to scared to risk the money i have into it. but one think i want to try is having line lock on it see if theres a way to make it.

LTb1ow 01-14-2009 08:55 PM

No clutch?

BigRocsFirebird 01-14-2009 09:37 PM

i have no idea yet of what i could even do to have anything like that for it. but that would be cool to get a nice start for drag raceing it

69BirdX 01-14-2009 09:43 PM

Ill talk to my co worker. he raced his Rc cars in a couple classes and also race go karts for years. Being in a machine shop he has made alot of cool custom stuff. Maybe he has done a line locl set up.

BigRocsFirebird 01-14-2009 10:38 PM

yea thanks man i'm not used to fabbing small things but i could give it a try. i love working with metal. i have everything i need. oxy/ace torch, plasma cuter mig/tig and stick welders. all kinds of tools lol but one thing i think they are all kinda big for a little scale nitro car. but hey i'm sure i could give it a try. if i get anything i'll post it up but not anything soon i still need to get it running smooth again.

Mike 01-14-2009 10:58 PM

you would have to convert it to 2 seperate breaks....so you would have to mount a break setup to the front diff, and use another servo and channel on the transmitter........

it might cause the front diff gears to strip on a 4wd car though
