That is what I was thinking of. A reasonable starting point, or 2 that would be fair to everyone. I guess that would be somewere In central jersey. We also need to find a date that would be free of any event. And I guess a rain date also just incase..

Dont know much. I do know the road in front of cape may shore. And a little of wild wood.. Park way is easy.. Will figure it out..

im down if im still around ...park way may be a bad idea though ... lots of traffic and ure asking for trouble from the police im on the parkway all the time and they see me go by and it just screams pull me over mostly when im not doing anything wrong, route 9 runs pretty far north and south ... but thats mostly one lane ... just throwing that out there

MonmouthCtyAntz 01-25-2009 04:51 PM

No 3rd gens allowed right :moon: ?

NastyEllEssWon 01-25-2009 05:07 PM

why not try to have it an organized event like the time the troopers shut down the turnpike or the parkway for a stretch for the corvette owners cruise. i know a few high ranking people in the west trenton barracks that might be able to grease these wheels

69BirdX 01-25-2009 05:30 PM

sounds like a longshot but def worth a try

NJ Torque 01-25-2009 06:03 PM

could work..

why not have a meet and eat like the GONE cruises?

I know its tempting for the cops, but what can they do if you obey the rules and stay in the right lane.. Nothing right? Remember its a only a cruise, where not out there to temp each other or others.. If we stick to that will be just fine.

im in if my car isnt sold or torn apart by then.... sounds like fun...

NastyEllEssWon 01-25-2009 11:11 PM

would anyone be interested in turning this into a charity style event? i spoke with a friend with the State Police and said it sounds like an awesome idea but the only way your gonna get the NJSP involved is if there is a charity aspect.

is anyone interested in throwing some money in to donate to have a section of the parkway shut down for our specific cruise use.

heres footage to a similar event featuring vettes in NJ

Anti_Rice_Guy 01-26-2009 10:40 AM

I might be down, as driver or passenger. Depending on starting location and when it is.

Not a bad idea! Why not.. But we do need everybody's thoughts on this. .
I have seen that footage.. They must have had a blast!

sweetbmxrider 01-26-2009 03:51 PM

we should go to philly and get cheesesteaks.

charity is a great idea.

NastyEllEssWon 01-26-2009 05:14 PM

well we'd need a bit more people to get interested in this. in the cruise some were driving at speeds of excess of 170 mph and there was 0 accidents. some stuck to the slower speeds cruising down and enjoying the ride, its all in the style you want to drive...but it deffinately seems something worthwhile to look into. id be willing to donate a c-note to rip ass down the parkway with the police ok

KirkEvil 01-26-2009 05:16 PM

Im down for a cruise. The parkway seems the most reasonable for gathering everyone. Estimate times for pulling into rest stops so everyone can group up

camaro2you 01-26-2009 06:49 PM

charity sounds like a great idea im still in.

Tru2Chevy 01-26-2009 07:27 PM

The event video that's posted above is FC Kerbeck's Toys for Tots run. There were a few hundred Corvettes participating I believe, but I don't know too many details about it.

FlyingDutchman 01-26-2009 08:09 PM

Anyone have an idea of how much they raised? i mean to shut down part of the parkway it must have "cost" a good amount $$$

NastyEllEssWon 01-26-2009 08:40 PM

well i figured it would probably be a donation of like 100 bucks per car. a few hundred cars. they raise a few grand for some parkway charity raising. sounds like it could swing again. this time with the fbodies woot
