Prob. I would be pissed if I bought a company and then all the employees and contracts left to go join the same boss but in a different building...

Granted but the members and mods of a site dictate how well the site gets sponsored and in turn makes money.

Were they suppose to leave after a certain period of time, after the take over? Or did they just decided to leave at the same time? |

Internet Brands bought LS1Tech in the spring of 2007, and in their purchase agreement NineBall and ProStockJohn were going to stay on as forum administrators for 2 years, then they would be removed from their administrator positions. When IB bought LS1Tech (along with it's sister sites PerfomanceTrucks.net, Mod Motor Tech, and Modern Hemi) they either didn't want Seat Stays Up, or agreed to let NineBall and PSJ keep that forum for themselves. Before the sale to IB, the user databases of all 5 of these sites were the same. If you registered on one of these sites, your username and password would work on all of them.
What NineBall and PSJ did was take a backup of the userlist from SeatStaysUp that was taken just before the sale to IB, and use it on their new forum, PlanetLSX. As far as what was written in the contract of the sale, we can only speculate, but if IB didn't have anything in the contract regarding "ownership" of the database in use on SeatStaysUp, I don't think they have any legal grounds to stand on here. Of course, IB owns close to 100 automotive sites (along with tons of others, including vBulletin), so I would imagine that they have a pretty good contract developed by now.....but I guess we'll wait and see. - Justin |
Wow, very ugly indeed.
When AutoForums bought GMI, they were more then happy to leave us be and only support us with technical problems. They have been great so far, have not forced anyone out, or caused any problems. I do remember when we came out with the news, the regular base of people paniced and started losing thier mind, but then settled down. So far, no problems and in fact have helped us improve our relationship and patch up problems with GM. |

yeah i would think that as well

as "honorable" as they seem with the mass departure, you think they would have left if they were collecting a paycheck to prune threads once a night? in this economy?
|
Better money could make you leave, right? ;)
