My thoughts too. Sure anything can be done on the cheap and you can always find a lower cost to do something, but the quality obviously is not going to be the same.

i really doubt the difference from a gto/g8 to the new camaros are so significant that it would warrant a redesign on the headers design they currently have. wolf in sheeps clothing you know

Nobodys questioning the power, Im questioning a 6k cam/header install on a LS3 thats been in vettes for almost 3 years.

GTO headers don't fit the zeta platform. The G8 and the Camaro are the zeta platform. G8 headers most likely will fit the Camaro but the intermediate pipes will be different due to the different wheel base.

Dont forget the prototype U/D pulley that adds to the price.

thank you for the clarification. either way parts are going to be ''exclusive'' to the new camaro...its one of the reasons for the ''globalization'' of cars gm been babbling about for the past years.

you would be dumb to pay 1k bucks for a premade catback. take it to a regular exhaust shop and have them do it up...i guarantee it wont be nowhere near 1k bucks

(not calling anyone dumb...just saying)

edit: lol yeah so your saying the extra 4k is worth it for the udp ?

half of 96 and half of 09 make 1 whole year in your terms plus the 12 years in between. Its still 14 calendar years.

1997 Corvette - 2010 Camaro = 14 model years of "LS" series engines

In actuality, it's only been 12.5 calendar years since the January 1997 introduction of the C5 vette (it was not released in late '96).

End of argument - back to talking about the cool 500+ hp Camaro.

As stated later, GTO is on VY/VZ chassis.
G8 and its Aussie brothers are on VE/Zeta 1
Camaro is on Zeta2. Zeta 1 and 2 are 96% the same. Camaro does ride on a specific chassis spec compared to G8. But its possible that teh G8's headers will fit, and they are anywhere from 1500-1800 bucks

2 years on my count, but its not about the engine its about the car.

1k for a premade stainless steel system? Not that hard to imagine. People are spending that on GMMG, and thats one 3 inch pipe, into one muffler...

Globalization is based on the actuall platform, the sharing of parts over teh world, developing one chassis system to make several cars.
Camaro's platform went under a lot of stretching, pulling, and fixing to give it the long nose/ short deck look.
The distance between the a pillar to the center of the wheel, better known as dash to axle ratio, is greater, which added teh most cost and most weight of the car, to make sure that is stronger to handle the larger wheels and greater loads the Camaro owner would put the car through.
