Actually you can paint the head surface and lifter valley for better oil drainback (supposedly).

Yes. Do a search for "Glyptal". http://images.google.com/images?hl=e...ab=wi&biw=1170

Keep in mind that it's not regular paint.

bubba428 08-17-2009 01:24 PM

teflon paint

GP99GT 08-17-2009 08:24 PM

teflon = not what you want in your engine

bubba428 08-17-2009 11:00 PM

But remember the block must be properly preped, and the Glyptal baked on or you'll end up with an oil system full of paint flakes!

And that's old school, no one really does it any more, either polish the lifter valley or just leave the material "as is" and rework the drain holes.

I did not mean to imply that he should do it on that engine. Just that you can paint the inside of one in certain situations. And yes, it's old school

there is definitely paint in that head and you really want to use the plastic green discs for prepping gasket surfaces. i agree with polishing the lifter valley too.

r0nin89 09-13-2009 10:32 AM

yup, I'll take some tonight. I'm going with the 15in camaro wheel until I can get a set of decent wheels on it. and yes its the same body as a GN only with the ugly steel bumpers. I'm gonna get a GN front and rear clip

Heres some reference on them still looking badass with steel bumpers.
