Nope haven't been doing that

In his case he should be around 2250. Cut 500-750 calories maximum. When you lose weight, recalculate your BMR and your caloric intake.

If your calorie intake is less than that you are eating too little.

Don't be taking protein shakes, do more cardio and eat healthier.

Well then, dust the running shoes off, and have at it. Better get used to running for ever and ever if you want to join the USMC.

I "walk" every day for 2 miles. I'm training for basic training before i even think about going to a recruter. I think its what? 2 miles under 13min?

I would be more concerned with waking up at 5, running till 7, eating, and then running till lunch, and so on.

I disagree. I think he is currently too heavy to run. Walking is fine, biking is better. Protein shakes are good if they are lo-cal. Avoid sugar wherever possible. That includes from fruits and juices.

He can run, it's just not a good idea at his weight. The constant pounding on his knees can create some problems.

Spot on man spot on.

Tsar 12-15-2009 10:02 AM

Um.. bubba, USMC requires you to run 3 not 2 miles. You better step up that "walking" if you want to get anywhere. At least walk "uphill" that will aid your "progress".................
