My vote would be for PS3. I've never had any problems with my system. My brother on the other hand has X360. He rarely plays it, but has gotten the RROD 2 or 3 times. Ask him now, and he would say that he wished he waited for the PS3.
I personally don't see how X360 has a better selection of games. Pretty much all of the major games are the same for both systems. And the ones that are exclusive to the other, I personally could care less about. Online, I haven't had a problems with it, and it's free. I also don't see what Live does any better than PSN. Also, the Blu Ray player is definitely a plus over the X360. |
360 hands down. PS3 controllers are friggen suckage.

Plus u can swap LS7/9/nascar motors in fbodys and vettes w/ Forza 3...
Only reason id want a ps3 is for the bluray but im reading stories of them failing left and right...plus there dirt cheap now on there own |
i did the same thing vin. i bought my 360 and let it sit on my table for a few days while spending time with both my friends 360's and ps3's. forza is just sooooo clean. the loading times are a bit exaggerated but they slim down if you upload it to the harddrive.
xbox's online you have to pay for...if you get a year card its like 50 bucks, if you drop a 20 you get a 3 month card...either way its a drop in the bucket for such a cool experience. if you have netflix, thats available as well...ive also seen people check facebook, twitter and all that social garbage from it too. someone might have forgot it too but....left 4 dead 2 is awesome awesome game....especially if you like co-op. Borderlands has gotten a good rep too. the detail in forza is crazy though...my friend recreated his ss with ease in the game....right down to his correct license plate. insane stuff. |
i've never played a ps3 but i know the online community of 360 is pretty awesome. really depends what you wanna use it for. i don't think 360 will play movies in hd from a disc unless you get the adapter.

You really gotta mess with both systems and which games you want to play. Most people that I know that have both systems play their PS3 more. Both suck browsing the web IMO and both can stream with Netflix. |

360 hands down for me. Bought mine a long time ago and not a single problem. |
Ex ps2 guy for years, I found the gamecube controller a little weird at first but i adapted to the xbox 360 controller in seconds and never owned a regular xbox previously...I dont play many games at all and consider the xbox controller very user friendly.

Just checked Amazon.com, they have several wireless bridges in the $30-$40 range. - Justin |
ps3's online downfall is that, at least in NHL 09 i havent played nhl 10 much since i got it, that you can't invite people to games u can only really send them messages and have to coordinate getting into the same game lobby lol, which is pretty ****** considering with xbox u can invite people. unless someone can shed some light on this for me that i dont know about ?

I've been a PS guy - had PS1, then PS2 and now PS3.
I've never had problems with my PS3 - I always make sure I have the latest updates and never have any problems downloading it. I haven't played xbox so I can't say anything about it..... but I'm extremely happy with my ps3. My only gripe with PS3 is the lack of backwards compatibility - the model I bought can't play any of the PS2 and PS1 games - that would be the only thing I would want to change. |

I have a 60 or 80 gig I think .... but I don't remember which one - I did check the serial number and mine isn't backwards compatible - I got it last christmas

An unbiased video comparison of the two consoles:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jorFAyy7BY4 A couple things to keep in mind while debating between consoles that the video doesn't list: -Cost PS3 base price = $300 (console + 120gb drive + 1 controller) as per bestbuy.com Xbox360 base price = $200 (console + 1 controller) as per bestbuy.com -Game Selection (use your own judgment here) -Extra Functions/Uses Personally, I use my Xbox360 as a media server, and since it sits next to a Blu-ray player, I didn't need the PS3 for that function. I believe the PS3 can be utilized in the same manner. Also, I needed to run a 4-port switch by the TV, so spending more money for my Xbox360 to get wireless wasn't even thought of. I'm a fan of hard-wired over wireless anyway. I'm not going to bother to go back and quote whoever said "Microsoft is just out for your money"--c'mon, Sony is the same way, always forcing new technologies into play. The PS3 was practically the first device on the market with Blu-ray, and do you remember those stupid "digital cassette players" that were in style about 10 years ago, for a solid 2 months? MiniDV or DVC or something like that--Sony's doing. Either way, both companies want your money. Dur. Microsoft sells their consoles low and accessories high. Sony sells their consoles high and accessories high. The difference? You'll pay LESS for an Xbox NOW than you will a PS3. Depending on your game selection and need for accessories, though, that's when things get tricky. Lots of variables come into play, but if you want "all the good stuff" right off the bat, you go with a PS3. I'm going to stop rambling with this post. Hopefully this sheds some light and becomes a useful, semi-unbiased guide to whoever needs it. |

you save yourself money buying the elite. its 300 bucks and it comes with 2 games (lego something and pure...still 2 games though) and a 120 gb harddrive. only reason i bought an arcade was cause it was a super walmart deal. anyway. if your going to buy yourself modern warfare 2 then you might as well step up and buy the super elite mw2 console that comes with a ton of crap, a huge 250 gb harddrive, free months of live and a headset, and some hdmi cables. |

I bought the arcade version after my first Xbox360 RRoD'ed, then modified a 120GB HDD into the new one so I didn't have to spend $140 on a storage unit. The old one's a test unit now :-D |
FWIW, you can shove a massive drive in the PS3 which is pretty simple to do. I have a 60GB which is fully backwards compatible.

I was one of the stupid people who dumped the 35.00 for the GT5 Demo last year. I played it for about 2 days then after not being able to play online with my friends or even talk to the people I am racing against I said screw it and went back to Forza 2. I totally gave up on GT5 and pretty much any PS3 game after that. The PS3 does have a BR player but you can get a stand alone BR player for 119.00 now brand new. My 1st PS3 ( 20 gig) I bought brand new back in 06 and it broke 100 days after I got it. PS gave a 90 day warrenty and when I called them they pretty much told me to suck it up and buy a new one.
The Xbox has a huge selection of both original Xbox games and 360 games that the system can play. It has a better online with fast and easy updates, more online activities, and is more user friendly. The downside is you have to pay 50.00 a year to use it but the upside is that with that money you can see why XBL is better. It doesnt come with a BR player but I have the little HD DVD drive for mine and you can find HD DVDs brand new for less then 1.00 on ebay. The quality is the same as a BR and there are like 300 titles out there for the HD DVD. Hell I picked up my HD DVD drive for 50.00 and it came with 10 hd dvd movies. I have a 40gig PS3 and a Elite. We play the xbox all the time. Its on 6hrs a day usually. The PS3 we use for Netflix BR movies. Its on maybe 4-8 hrs a week. I went from a PS2 to a 360 and was very satisfied. I was a die hard PS fan but now I like the 360 way better then my PS3 or PS2. |

All the PS fanboys out there. What makes the PS3 a better system? It seems like its the same thing over and over. The Bluray player! ( I cant deny it thats why I have my PS3) It seems like its the same 4 things over and over I read from every PS persons post.
1.If you want the better game system now then get a Xbox but in the long run you will regret not getting a PS3. 2.If you want the better online play then get a xbox. 3. If you want the system with more games then get a Xbox. 4. reliability of the xbox sucks. Its almost 2010 and its been 4yrs since the xbox has come out and 3 years since the PS3 has come out. I dont understand what everyone means by in the long run? The Xbox still has 10million more systems out there then the PS3 and the only reason that number is even 10 million more is because Japan prefers the PS3 over the Xbox unlike the rest of the world. If the PS3 is really that much better then why is it still trailing the Xbox? I mean with all the PS2 owers out there you would think they would have switched to a PS3 right? You are telling casual gamers that instead of getting the better system for playing games to get the system that costs more because it has a BR player and can surf the internet? Who cares. If I want to play the best racing game out there then I am going to get the system with the best racing game out there. GT5 should be bad ass but its taking so long to release it that like many others I have given up on it. How does Forza make these amazing racing games without having to put out a 35.00 demo? Thats right the GT5 Demo cost 35.00!! ( I was one of the people who bought it last year) And all the PS fanboys says MS is out for money! Reliability issues. Has anyone thought that maybe why there are so many more reported RROD then there are repoted PS3 defects is because there are 10 million more xboxs out there then PS3's? I mean there was an entire year of only Xbox 360's and they were judged on everything. But like a good car company they offer a warrenty to replace or fix your system for FREE!! When My PS3 Broke, Sony said oh its been 100 days since you bought it and our warrenty only last 90 days. go buy a new one and that will solve your problem. And MS is out for money!! So what makes a PS3 better that us Xbox people and people like me who have both systems dont know about? |
