if you want you can total my car. Not my camaro maybe the 76 since we have it insured for alot more then it is worth then we can split it three awys, collect insurance, and lawsuit.

yeah but most if you have alcohol on your breath since you have been drinking you shouldn't being driving. Its just one of a few ways to see if you should be put threw further testing. When you say the words if your breath smells or you slur the letters then you know that you should do a field sobriety test. It has nothing to do with seeing how drunk you or or what you drank.....

like i said, it depends on the drink. you could have one drink of a premium vodka and you won't smell a thing. you could then have one can o' bud and you will have stink breath. its all in the distillation :)

Anyway, sounds like you got all the standardized tests. I've seen the alphabet test done two different ways: Saying it complete from A to Z without singing it or starting at one letter and ending at another. Theoretically, the alphabet is something we've known since our earliest days of school (Maybe earlier) so it stands to reason that if you are sober, you are going to be able to recite it, wherever the officer tells you to start and finish. It is also an opportunity to see if you can follow simple directions.

That's why there are tests: To determine whether a suspected violator is truly impaired before going through the traumatic experience of an arrest. Again, glad it worked out for you.

For some people, it actually is a wake up call. But it's usually pretty traumatic for them as well. I guess it really depends on where it happens. Our holding cells are clean, but that's about it. Many of the people we arrest are there for a few days (For example, they get locked up two days before the next court day and they can't afford bail), and with them being in holding cells, they aren't allowed to shower and change clothes. It gets pretty funky. I've had a lot of folks that I actually feel sorry for when I bring them in. They're freaking out and crying hysterically from the time the cuffs go on. Then it's a whole lot of "Then what happens?!" questions. And when the reality of having to go from the processing area to the funky smelling area kicks in, it isn't pretty, especially if they're put in holding when there are already "real" criminals locked up with them. A lot of those folks, you don't see again but I'm certain they'll NEVER forget their stay with us.
