haha yea i was just messing with you vinn...but people got way carried away as usual... i dont really care for the lt1-ls1 argument... i like my car and i can care less... i agree though that working on other peoples cares isnt the same as working on your own... unless they are a close friend or family then it makes me feel good to help...

Ive seen some of the big hit nitrous guys do a full plug swap in under 15 minutes. Talking 400+ hit guys who read there plugs after every run. So its not impossible. |
LT1 is just another normal small block so it's no big deal. 4th gens are a pita to work on in general. It's no picnic changing plugs on either the LT1 or the LS1. Headers are about the same pita on both cars especially when you're doing emission's headers. The LT1 is a little more of a pain because of the EGR setup but they're pretty darn close. 396 big block if you want easy.

I've owned/worked on lt1's too. ls1-equal length wires (lt1's need to select proper length) ls1-coil-per-plug on top of valve covers(lt1 have to route wires along block and into opti) ls1-plugs,little more access to remove than lt1 all these things allow the plugs and wires to be change alot faster than an LT1. if for some reason you don't believe/understand this. than bring your car down, I'll put $500 in your hand if you can change yours out before I get mine done. NOTE: my original post was just breakin nuts, but some people here can't take it, so therefore I have to prove my point here. personally: I like lt1's (the grunt, lowend torque and the sound of it. But I have grown to love my LS) |
there is no more room in an LS1 than an LT1, wires are obviously easier but LT1s are not by any means hard. you're making it sound like babies will cry and planes will fall out of the sky if you have to do a plug/wire change in an LT1.

Did plugs on my ls1 for the first time and it took my 2 hours. Def easier then a lt in my opinion but i never owned or worked on an lt motor that was mine which does make a difference. But if i were to buy a car becsaue of how hard it was to work on Id get a mustang. Did plugs on my buddies mach and it took a half hour of taking my time

should look into 4 banger honda's if you want quick plug changes.
