Never made a difference when I used to get pulled over all the time back in my high school days..

Lost my PBA card all to soon :(

But, lost count of the times I got pulled over, and no points except for one BS thing and rear ending someone...

Go on eBay! They have them for under $100.00 and even less, some have sold for around $50-$70. They are legal in this state and the fact that I clip mine to the passenger sunvisor means you can't see it because there is no cord showing and it is out off sight.

Sounds like a long thread about nothing. You got dinged, but he didn't take your info other than probably your plates. Looks to me like you got off fine with nothing more than a good wake up call.

The cordless models I have are the ESCORT SOLO 5 (older model which uses 4 AA batteries) and the SOLO RD-5110 (which uses 2 AA batteries) and allows you to preset your personal modes and has a battery meter that lets you know when they are getting low. All the much newer models cost a hellava lot more money and do not do that much more. I have had these units for 3 or 4 years and they still do a great job with K-X-Ka & Laser bands. Also the ESCORT models do a pretty good job at keeping the false signal beeps to a low sensitivity.

another i got pulled over . . . .

pulled over on rt 17 in mahwah.

Got a little excited and just took off as soon as i was in the merging lane, heard the gmmg's so i just kept going into third when i saw his car and slammed my brakes. Pulled right into the gas station since he was already moving once i was passing him.

Clocked me at 87 mph, somewhere in third. 55 mph zone

cop "that thing freaking moves! , you just get the car"
me "laughed" no, just havent gotten to really drive it"
cop "just come out of a gas station ?"
me "no was just trying to merge, you know how this road can be a pain"
cop "yeah, license and registration, you have any point or anything i should know about on your license?"
me "2 in ny"
cop "none in jersey, alright, dont worry"

few minutes later comes back with a ticket for not having my insurance on me, told me just to stop at the court house and show them then i will be on my way and to slow down.

man did i get lucky with this guy. i really got to slow down. I blame the GMMG's

LTb1ow 08-08-2010 10:12 PM

What a meany.

maroman88 08-08-2010 10:18 PM

bcpd or mahwah pd?

JerzLT1 08-08-2010 10:23 PM

I got pulled over too!

this is actually 3 times that i got pulled over in the last couple weeks.

the first time i was on my bike riding on Rt 30 through waterford. 50mph speed limit and i was cruising at 70 (its easy to speed on a bike without realizing it). i saw the cop car, looked down and saw how fast i was going and immediately pulled over before the cop even got on the road. by the time she got behind me with the lights on i was already pulled over with my helmet off (waiting for her to ask for my credentials before i get off of the bike). She says "i have to give you credit for actually stopping" and asks how long ive been in the military. talked for a few minutes before she handed me my stuff back and said to slow down and have a nice day.

Got pulled over again on the bike by an officer for passing 2 cars on the shoulder at a light for me to make a right hand turn. he rides bikes as well and just pulled me over to tell me that one of his buddies just got put out of work for a year because someone cut over when he was doing the same thing that i did. told me to be safe and just let me slide.

and last but not least i got pulled over in my truck for having tinted windows. He said he only pulled me over because theyre really dark and he couldnt even see me. i only drive with the windows up when its really humid for the air conditioning and i like how dark it is in the truck even during the day. wasnt expecting to be let go but he gave me a warning and asked that i get it taken care of.

in every one of these circumstance i expected to get a ticket because i was doing something wrong. it may have been a professional courtesy being in the military or due to the fact that i did everything possible to make the officers feel comfortable with the stop (hands on the steering wheel, keys out of the ignition) and spoke to them with respect. Ive been pulled over a lot and can honestly say that ive had maybe 2 bad experiences (one that wasnt warranted at all) and one of them was because i doubled the speed limit. anyone else have any good experiences? you usually only hear about the bad ones

MyFirstZ 08-08-2010 10:28 PM

it was mahwah, it was towards the sheraton (sp) hotel on the north bound side up here by 287.

MyFirstZ 08-08-2010 10:30 PM

anytime i have gotten pulled over i try and do the same, windows down by the time they walk up. Always courteous, since i am always doing something wrong. Never got a reduction from an 87 to a no insurance

maroman88 08-08-2010 10:46 PM

yea figured.... if it was bcpd, ud have a hand full lol

BigRocsFirebird 08-08-2010 10:48 PM

Try a young adult in a bright Arrest Me Red camaro. Only thing is that it's quiet (until i cut off that muffler and weld a straight pipe to replace it.)

cuz i got no money at the moment, lol and my friend was gonna weld it for me since it'd be louder than stock. :P

BonzoHansen 08-09-2010 03:44 PM

So you are really going to cut off the muffler and weld in a straight pipe? Wow, I thought that was a joke.

RU_Weskot 08-09-2010 03:45 PM

no harm no foul, and it'll still be legal than catless xD

BonzoHansen 08-09-2010 03:48 PM

it will be a ticket machine as well as sounds like a POS. Good luck.

RU_Weskot 08-09-2010 03:49 PM

aww really? only reason i think it'd sound nice is cuz my friend welded a straight pipe on his 2011 wrx and it sounds nice cruising, idling, and when he goes into rally mode. lol

BonzoHansen 08-09-2010 03:51 PM

now I know you're kidding. or you're a closet ricer.
