No 442s ever got the lightning rod shifters. They came in the earlier 80s hurst/olds cutlasses.

The 442 package was in short a heads/cam package that got a whopping like 15 more hp. And obviously the appearance features, 8.5 rear, and different governor and servo in the trans.

Am I reading this wrong then:

http://www.442.com/oldsfaq/ofhos.htm#HO 1983

That the H/O was on top of the 442 in 83-84?

I'm not too up on my 80's Olds stuff. I just new the LR's got put into some of the Olds G-Bodies, and that that's cool.

Billy, I think that website is incorrect - in '83 and '84, there was no 442 model - just the Hurst/Olds, which came with the L/Rs. The 442 replaced the H/O in '85-'87, and did not have the Lightning Rods.

the Lightening rods FTW.....needs to come in the next firebird

On a more serious note, did anyone here actually own one or drie one with that setup? how was it?
