Wow, what a terribly managed game by Texas! Why was the 3rd baseman playing up on the grass in the 8th when you have a 4 run lead and give up a double for no reason? Wait, let's change the pitcher for every batter until we give the Yanks the lead, that makes more sense! :-x The playoffs seem to bring the worst out of every team. I thought Minn giving the Yanks the first game was bad, this was a joke.

OMG!!!!!

Did you see that Yankee game? Hoooly crap! A friend of mine was texting me that CC was faltering fast.
I get in from workin on the 87, and whamo...5-0!
I turned it on top of the 7th...and it was all gravy from there. Amazing job.

BigAls87Z28 10-15-2010 11:29 PM

Looked good from this side. You must have something wrong with your TV?
Yanks just hammered the hell out of everything Texas had to give them in the 8th. Burning up the entire bullpen, trying to stop the bleeding...love it.
The pick-off was the thing that sealed the Ranger's fate.

kinda like the reds giving the phils games on a silver platter. :)

F me, I went to bed last night when it was 5-0 with a big grin on my face...it seems the baseball Gods have a sick sense of humor...

F'in Yankees lol

Kudos to them though for coming back.

You MIGHT be able to start to relax when its the Yanks last up, 2 outs, two strikes on the batter, no one on base, and the yanks are down by 4 or more runs.

BonzoHansen 10-16-2010 09:18 AM

As soon as I saw darren oliver on the mound I knew they had a decent chance

Yup, these teams all seem to turn into mental cases. And the managing is pathetic.

Why is Jeter a lead off hitter? He used to be good, I respect that. Im a yanlee fan. But now he sucks, it happens, people get old, be a captian, let a real lead off hitter lead off,. If you cant hit or steal a base let someone who can.

baddest434 10-16-2010 04:33 PM

who? the only one who can steal bases is gardner and he can't hit crap!

alamantia 10-16-2010 06:44 PM

Gardner or granderson i suppose.

Neither pitcher looked overly impressive and the umpire was inconsistant with the low strike call so it affected both of them. It was a close game like everyone expected, but most people figured it would be 1-0. Phils had plenty of chances to score runs and left them on base.

Frosty 10-17-2010 09:02 AM

The Giants didn't impress me aside from Ross. The Phillies definitely didn't take advantage of their opportunities.

....and Rollins needs to be benched...

You won't get an argument from me, but Charlie will never do it.

Nope, it won't happen unless he gets hurt again.

BigAls87Z28 10-17-2010 05:58 PM

Boo whoo. Giants dont have any big name players, and you lost.

Timmy took it to the house on you guys. While it wasnt perfect, it was better then Doc.

Frosty 10-17-2010 09:23 PM

I didn't know "big name" players means a team shouldn't win.

...and Yankees have big name players and they got embarrassed in Game 2...so what's that say? If it wasn't for a meltdown in Game 1 they'd be in a ig whole...again....what's your point?

I merely said they Giants didn't impress me. I didn't say they were a bad team..in fact just about every Phillies fan BUT me is saying Phils in 5....this series will go longer than that.

Slow-V6 10-18-2010 07:18 AM

Its a good thing that they didnt bench Rollins!! The Phillies need to start pitching around Ross! He is the only offense for SF..

Yeah, talk about ironic. I guess you need to talk bad about a player to get him to perform! I have no idea what they are thinking throwing an inside pitch to Ross, he tees off on every one of them. Phils had some nice defensive plays and that's what makes the difference this time of the year. Gotta love the pitchers getting hits too! Good thing Oswalt ran through that stop sign.
