If your insurance imposes a mileage restriction on your collector car that is up to them, but it has no tie to the historic registration. IMO if your insurance company restricts you like that he/she should look for another insurer.

I wasn't inferring that there was a tie in I drove mine rain or shine when I had it running right. Passed cops and they didn't care. I was just saying those who think there are mileage limits are probably thinking so due to insurance reasons. But I know there is no actual limit on historic plates. I was running with a regular insurance policy on my car. Same as the daily driver. No collectors insurance here with the QQs.

I had theworst people in flemington. I will never go back there for anything again. They couldn't confirm that my hood scoop was stock so they denied me. The BIT-- of a woman even wrote no QQ all over the title so i couldn't get it somewhere else. Lucky for me im smart enough to realize i could get a duplicate title. did it in somerville no problem.

That is BS, she obviously can't do math. Anyway, for reference, as I may have stated before, Trenton did it no questions asked when I did my 84 in '09. Given its been a couple years procedure may have changed.

I got my QQ's in Somerville with no trouble at all. :)

The people at somerville were great. I would tell everyone to go there.

I would skip that idea if I were you. Does nothing but draw attention to the fact that your plate isn't on the front of the car where it belongs, and if the officer wants, they can write you for not having the plate mounted legally, as well as obstruction of view.

Store it somewhere in the car.

I'll have to remember that, they're closer in Trenton, and Tru2Chevy, I will take that advice.

Chris, I'm pretty close to Somerville if you come down this way I'll have to show you my 84.

I've got to say that every time I've gone to the Somerville DMV they have been great. Everyone I've encountered has been friendly and competent. (Of course I make sure my paperwork is in order before going). I think they are really screwing up my perception of how awful the DMV really is.

They are pretty good as fas as DMVs go. I aways use Somerville, but before they remodeled it a few years ago, it was a closet. You couldn't fit more than 20 people in it and there were always 51 in line... It's much better now.

doesn't have to be when I go down there to the DMV. Could be down there for another reason too. If you go to the June club meet at the Chatterbox I'll be there for sure. Don't know if I will have the car but I will be there.

Pulled over for using a QQ for non-QQ stuff, or for not having a front plate?
