I never lock my jeep, ever. Anything you can steal, including the jeep, cost me less than the top you can knife your way through. So please, if you do steal it, leave the top behind in its like new condition.

I have a ocean front property in Nevada for sale real cheap too.

Lets not be naive.

Clearly you fools have never overnighted parts from Japan

IHeck, i even lock my cap and it has a jug of old motor oil in it and a sludge hammer.....guess i'm just lazy and don't want to deal w/the hassle if something goes bad knowning i could have prevented it (to an extent).

Make sure you lock the hitch, too.

My nice things are kept locked up. Motion lights and surveilance cameras hopefully keep people honest. Anything can happen but that's why we have insurance.

I had a friend with a jeep with soft top and half doors. He religiously kept it locked. Even though every window zipped out

JW 01-08-2013 09:14 AM

Welp, it has made it to Yahoo home page now.

JW :D

Hahaha what an idiot. I leave a couple bucks easily accessible for the petty thief.

Has anyone encountered issues w/scrappers too? I heard things about folks taking anything that can be scrap out of ones yard, i.e hoods clearly not out by the curb, old steelies, bumpers, etc. Of course copper products will be gone in a flash too if not locked up but just random metal 'junk' some folks have in their yards.

sweetbmxrider 01-08-2013 12:13 PM

Scrappers like that are the scum of the earth. I've heard people taking cars broken down on the road, hell people were having at it after the storm. **** them.

coolmanvette75 01-08-2013 12:26 PM

Yea those scrappers are a real pita. I've had several bad experiences with them taking things I'm not getting rid of. I think V had a real bad one not too long ago...

if I caught a scrapper on my property I'd call the cops ASAP. Trespassing. that would really piss me off. that said I don’t leave stuff like that out in the front in the open. it's put away ASAP. Got to keep the neighbors & wife happy, the yard can't look like a junkyard.

Mike 01-08-2013 02:16 PM

Someone stole a bunch of first gen parts from in front of my parents

BonzoHansen 01-08-2013 02:27 PM

wasn't me!

Rob WS6 01-08-2013 02:35 PM

When the rear in my Tahoe blew, I had taken in apart in my driveway. Had the carrier and gearset sitting on the ground right by the truck and left to go pick up another rear. While I was gone, the wifey noticed some scrappers coming onto the driveway taking my parts! She ran outside and they just used their broken-I-barely-speaka-english, put the stuff down and left. Every time I saw them scouting for scrap after that I would stare them down past my house... they would speed off. They had gotten really bad for a while, but seem to have let up. Im assuming metal prices went down...

But yeah, sucks what happenned to that Supra... $200k car, not sure Id be leaving it in my driveway without at least something big blocking it in.

grazi 01-08-2013 06:02 PM

Scrappers stole the copper sprinkiler lines in basement of a job I was doing. Owner had to pay 4G to have new blackpipe sprinkler system installed.

zraffz 01-08-2013 08:45 PM

1500 HP + Supra + $200,000 = 9 second car... seems like a horrible fail.

My valuable car sits in a garage where it belongs. Good thing whoever is stealing this stuff from NJ is a rice fag.

Pretty sure the car went 8.2x the day it was taken. News of that was kind of overshadowed by the fact it was stolen though...

Jersey Mike 01-09-2013 06:44 AM

I wouldn't worry too much, they're usually only after valuable stuff.

WSex 01-09-2013 03:50 PM

a few years back, i woke up to a loud bang. the thieves ripped open my neighbors garage and dragged his rice bucket all the way to jersey city. crazy what some people will do.

Dudbird113 01-09-2013 09:31 PM

200g for a 1500hp car that goes 8s is a dud lol. Not saying its a ugly car or anything just for that money it should be able to do lightspeed

LTb1ow 01-09-2013 09:33 PM

No, it should go plaid.

200k has got to be a mistake. Either the car did not cost that much or someone made a financial mistake and paid too much. A top fuel car costs less.
