Get that bolt head red hot, then try again with an impact. That's really the best way to do it

FYI - WD40 is not penetrating oil

PB Blaster*

BonzoHansen 05-03-2017 01:02 PM

better lol.

LS1ow 05-03-2017 02:09 PM

I doubt PB did much anyway. Im sure the bolt is so stuck due to the sealant on the flange of it.

Going to hit it with heat today or tomorrow.

If not, may as well build a 402

wretched73 05-03-2017 02:26 PM

Not enough skills to remove a crank bolt but can build a 402.

I'm in for the show.

Tried. I only have a battery one, not a air. Which I thought would be better, but negatory

sweetbmxrider 05-03-2017 06:39 PM

Ask bls to borrow his

I'll grab one from one of my techs tmmr. I honestly thought a battery gun would hit harder then the air.

''Twas incorrect

wretched73 05-03-2017 07:34 PM

You need heat and an impact. I used my snap on battery gun. Get the head of bolt cherry red then impact the every living **** out of it

LTb1ow 05-03-2017 08:07 PM

I just used a breaker bar.

I use this method while changing spark plugs.

qwikz28 05-04-2017 06:05 AM

I used a breaker bar and the handle for my floor jack over the breaker bar as additional leverage to make it a good 3-4 feet total. I had another person help put a hand on it so it didn't slip off.

Was going to attempt that, but motor is on a stand so to much leverage could be an issue

Going to grab one of my techs air impacts and run home on lunch and give it a go

LS1ow 05-04-2017 01:12 PM

quick blast with the torch and then the air impact and it came right off
