I reached out to AI, TEA, Texas speed and a few other small companies. TEA was not only the first to get back to me, but also seemed the most down to earth. AI took over 10 days to even get back to me about my question. |
It's been a week, where's the 'merica at?

New Fuel pump hot wire kit arrived today. One that i had gifted to me by the man with the beautiful smile was for a LT1 car, so the connectors were different.
Looks like it comes with an all new connector for the fuel pump hat itself, anyone experience this ? |
The bulkhead connector? Yeah its simple and pretty straight forward.

Isn't that the connector I didn't want to change when we were first going over the fuel system? That you recommended I do? Adam 4; build 0 |
Nah, doesn't sound like it

Choo choooooo
All aboard the neg train!
Got the new wiring and connector on the fuel pump from the new hot wire kit, got the pump back in the tank with a nice new seal, got the brandy new fuel tank straps in! All ready to get the tank in and the car back on the ground. Nah. I was met by 2 surprises. 1. It looks like the fuel line Ts off after the fuel filter and runs back to the tank area. Which port do I hook this to on the pump hat? Vent or return? This is odd to me Bc I assumed the "return" line would just be the hard line that runs up to the bay next to the supply line. And the "vent" line, I anticipated it to be ford style and be a plastic line that ran all the way back from the bay. 2. The previous owner was nice enough to remove the above mention lined like a human with a quick disco tool, so the quick connect is intact and perfect. HOWEVER, the supply line(pump to filter) is CUT. Does anyone have one laying around? Would it be wrong to do a braided line just from the tank to the fuel filter? |
If I remember right, that line that loops back to the tank is the one that runs to the fuel pressure regulator, and the regulator just dumps the excess fuel back into the tank.

so whats the deal with braided lines ?
|
They usually are a mesh of braided stainless steel around a rubber or other plastic tube. Good for making racecar stuff more legitz.
|
They suck to make

Race car snowball, is snowballing.
http://i1368.photobucket.com/albums/...psotq72ekp.jpg Traded a UMI Strut bar ill never use and $75 for this. Complete with F body rails. Guy who had it before stuck some memory foam under the button on seat cover, and its honestly more comfy than i was anticipating. |
Also,
Power steering pump, MSD Wires, Billet Fixed Belt Tensioner and K&N filter have arrived. Also just got tracking number for the custom braided line i had made to replace the plastic line from pump to filter. |
I'm assuming heads are already ordered, right Snowball?
