theonly people that think nitrous is cheating are fags who are afraid to hit the button :)

It's only cheating if you lie and say you don't have it when you really do

:werd: It might not be my favorite form of power adder but it is what it is and it DOES work. :burnout:

ROFLMAO. Please, please let me know when.

HAHA well it worked for Nasa, and It would be sorta like N2O only colder and Its would oxidize the fuel better. Of course it might freeze the fuel or the piston and the valve and the valve seal. Then again it might work. 9 sec 3.4!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mike 07-04-2007 11:59 AM

if people think its not cheating, why do they go to lengths to hide thier systems?

SLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPER

firehawk1120 07-04-2007 03:58 PM

because I don't like being harassed by the police if pulled over. I don't want to lose my back seat. If I don't want to be harassed at car shows I don't have to open my rear hatch.

There are 3 reasons to hide it, none of which have anything to do with cheating. I also had my installation done so i could run my car without others bench racing it telling me what I should run with my mods. I did my thing, ran the car at E-town with N/T on the window. When I was happy with my times I told people what I did. Even though they tried to find out by looking all over my car, and even getting the time keeper at e-town to post up my time, but I realized what was going on and backed off... LOL silly garden gnomes...

Mike 07-04-2007 05:30 PM

well if your hiding it from tech inspection, and dont let the track know its there, then YES your cheating

firehawk1120 07-04-2007 05:47 PM

the track doesn't care if you have it or not. They just care about your time. If you run under a certain time you need safety equipment.

Mike 07-04-2007 06:19 PM

********. if you have nitrous you have to have a blow down tube, it has to be mounted to metal and you have to wear a fire jacket.

NASA adds oxygen to powdered aluminum to create a powerful fire through a chemical reaction. Solid fuel. You would have to add a crazy amount of gasoline to prevent melting your stuff down in a glorious fireball.

firehawk1120 07-04-2007 06:55 PM

Yes you have to have a blow down tube. Fire jacket ummm NO. Like I said as long as you have it properly installed they just care about your times. Trust me I went there he asked me what I plan on running. I said I'm honestly not sure. He said ok, if they have a problem they'll let you know. Anything faster then 11.7 I think they bust your balls about having a roll cage. They never questioned anything else about the car and I ran 11.8. Never got asked to leave, never told to have a fire jacket on. Just pants, and a helmet.

have you been there this year? along with the new helmets, a fire jacket is needed with any aftermarket supercharger or turbo or NITROUS setup no matter what time your running
the new 6pt cage rule is also 11.49 and faster need a cage.

NHRA rules state a roll bar at 11.49. You should be OK until then.

firehawk1120 07-05-2007 02:14 PM

are you referring to E-town or another track. I haven't been to e-town in a while, but I never heard of needing a fire jacket for having a particular mod, more specific to the time you run.

And I knew it was somewhere the mid 11's but wasn't sure the exact number of 11.49 for the roll bar.

firehawk1120 07-05-2007 02:18 PM

I saw this on e-towns website, but it is written in gibberish. Are they saying if you run under a 10.00 you need a fire jacket, or all e.t.s with those power adders need a fire jacket. If that's the case that's CRAP. I guess I won't be racing any more. F-in stupid rules.

ALL POWER ADDER RACERS WITH N0N-OEM/FACTORY POWER ADDERS IE:SUPERCHARGERS,TURBOCHARGERS,OR THE USE OF NITROUS. SECTION 1A,PAGE 24 OF THE 2006 NHRA RULEBOOK READS AS FOLLOWS. "10.00(*6.40 1/8 MILE) AND SLOWER; ALL E.T.NON-OEM SUPERCHARGER,NON-OEM TURBOCHARGED, OR NITROUS-EQUIPPED CARS WITH AN OEM OR .024-INCH STEEL FIREWALL: JACKET MEETING SFI SPEC 3.2A/1 MANDATORY. " THESE JACKETS ARE AFFORDABLE. THIS RULE WILL BE ENFORCED!

2007 nhra rules on ANY TRACK IN THE COUNTRY state that any car with an aftermarket power adder, a fire jacket is mandatory...

please if you havent paid attention to something in a while, dont argue a point on the matter.

firehawk1120 07-05-2007 05:02 PM

you can both bite me. the question is whether or not nitrous is cheating. You got so off topic on this it's not even funny. So there was a rule change kill me for having a life beyond the track.

so sorry I'm not all knowing like you.

I showed you 3 reasons to hide it and you had to get all pissy because someone proved you wrong.

The difference between you and me is I did research, and then admitted I didn't know about the rule change. You on the other hand turned into a frigging dick about it.

and savage who the F invited you into this, and what does your gay ass post have to do with ANYTHING in this thread. I think the rule is dumb I'll stay off the tracks. How is that whining??? Yeah didn't think so.

Mike 07-05-2007 05:12 PM

i was on topic. if you feel its not cheating then why hide it.......

and i dont mean why hide the bottle, because when it was in my car i had it in the passenger side wheelwell............i mean hiding the lines and cyllonoids and nozzles so that when you pop the hood, no one knows its there.......

if you go out of your way to hide it, then you must be trying to:

a. get over on tech inspection (which makes it cheating on the track)

b. get over on a race class (which makes it cheating on the track)

c. get it past whoever is looking under your hood for a street race. which isnt cheating since theres no rules, but is still a little on the cheap side.

Mike 07-05-2007 05:14 PM

no, the difference between you and me is that i knew what i was saying before i started arguing about it, i didnt correct someone without knowing what i was talking about....and i missed the part where you proved me wrong

98tadriver 07-08-2007 12:55 PM

This is the way i see it-- Nitrous is a bolt on, because you can bolt it right up. Yes, they call it a power adder, but bolt ons add power too, just not as much. I believe its a bolt on lol. and i dont think i will be cheating and/or lying the next time i tell the sucker whom i race that im just a bolt on/gears T/A because if you apply my theory, technically i am bolt on car
