yeah i wouldn't take away any safety features for the car that could compensate someone's safety or your own.
not to mention the front bumper cover will flex unless you build a new bumper support. and i suggest leaving the rear in because removing it has pretty much been proven to make the rear bumper cover act like a parachute

Just received the delete kit. I have not installed it yet. Quality is good but could be improved on. Kit is heavy, not as heavy as rear seat assmebly. Made from 3/4 MDF so it is a heavy duty kit. I think I am going to use these as templates to make lighter weight ones. I have a call into a carbon fiber supplier to see what he can do. I will keep you all posted. If they turn out good I will offer them to the membership here. Here are some pics of the kit.

i ordered mine with hatches. we'll see how they look.
Who did you order them from?
ebay. he said $20 more and he will put in hatches.
I have a "carpeted refrigerator" as a rear seat delete.

i put mine in the other day. i kind of want to turn them into sub boxes. i should snap a pic with the phone. they are ok.

bumper supports together are around 42lbs. theyre only good for 5mph accidents anyway. id leave the doorbars in until u get a rollbar/cage in there. the noses of 98-02 trans ams will not flex in unless youre traveling at 150+ mph. camaros might be a lil different tho. the answer to the rear bumper "parachute problem" is to screw a piece of sheetmetal to your heatshield and bolt it to your bumper cover. stiffened it right up. and if youre reallly worried about drag, cut a hole out behind the license plate and use some kind of fastening device to allow your license plate to flap open u go over 100mph
well mine dosent sag because i have a tubular bumper support......and i was just throwing the info out there about the rear bumper
thats cool, and i too was throwing info out there as well  we are so full of info!!
there is no sound deadening behind the carpet so it would probably sit flusher if you had some. i think i am going to replace the "handles" with something from the hardware store. use the extra pieces to cover the bolts or just paint them black. all in all i like it better than what was there. :D

They really close up the rear space. Looks good.
yeah there is a nice thread on ls1tech where the kid is making a false wall kinda and flush mounting his system into it. looks like it will turn out real nice.
they look nice, how much do they weigh approximately?
i wish i did weigh them. i believe they shipped at 20lbs. don't hold me to it though. maybe i'll take out out and weigh it some time this week.
Can you sit on em? Like are they sturdy?
guy said only 40lbs. i did sit on them though, they hold pretty good. they only bolt in two spots per delete though. where the backrest bolts and where the bottom cushion bolts. they don't rest on the floor either so i really wouldn't recommend riding on them, but i rest on them when effing around in the car.
looks good adam, I wanna do that eventually
yeah i gotta do something with the cap wires to the amp though. i was originally going to put them under the deletes but why not show off
i need to get my boxes covered with the neutral tan carpet though |
i want rear seat delete boxes
