Good call. I remember looking through the slp catalog for the options you could order and there was an optional dif on there if I recall correctly. I suppose that could have had those gears than.

So i think i will switch to the loudmouth catback, keep the edelbrock shorties (for now), keep the volant cold air kit, and ill add an intake manifold and throttle body+a tune, stock injectors should be fine right ?

98F-1camaro 01-25-2012 02:47 PM

yes, you'll be fine with the stockers with that setup. If your gonna get an intake manifold, don't waste your money on FAST. Too expensive and certainly not worth it with only those mods. Throw an LS6 intake on it and your good to go.

If you have 2.73 gears, they have to go first. Even before a cat back and lid IMO.

band77one 01-26-2012 12:26 PM

speakign of rpo codes? is there a reliable source to look up my rpo codes? i found a "complete list" but i had like 10 codes that werent on the list

WildBillyT 01-26-2012 12:29 PM

http://cs.pontiac-club.com/graphics/...-car-codes.pdf

I had a massive list on here but I can't find it.

sweetbmxrider 01-26-2012 12:48 PM

Just cause it has an rpo code for 3.23's doesn't mean someone couldn't have swapped them

Don't waste the money on the LM1 catback if you already have an aftermarket catback.

band77one 01-26-2012 04:05 PM

i got to hear my car with someone else driving it and im actually pretty happy with the combo of the edelbrock shorties and magnaflow catback. Ill have to do get on rt 42 this weekend and check my speed/rpm to make sure its got the right gears.

Just look into a GM Parts book and you'll find there is no part number for a speedometer gear for automatics with 3:42 gears.

probably because they use speed sensors and are set in the PCM

Magnaflows sound real good on ls1's.

Good luck with your car......looks real good. You will love the ls1, they run great stock and respond really well to even modest mods. Have had mine for 6 yrs. and still enjoy it. But watch the mod bug ,it gets addicting. And get used to the car and respect the power driving it on the street, red car with a nice sound to it can attract unwanted attention. (unless your an old gray-haired guy).
