If its only around 112, it is probably a good idea.

LS1ow 07-13-2017 06:08 PM

To late. Rods bolts are in.

Cmon guys, we all know that this bottom end isn't going to last long enough to wear anything down.

sweetbmxrider 07-13-2017 08:06 PM

We all know this bottom end isn't going to go

Jersey Mike 07-14-2017 05:16 AM

Please be nice to it

LS1ow 07-14-2017 11:47 AM

Wasnt that bad honestly. I was pretty nervous about tinkering with it but it was simple. biggest pain was getting the ferrells on the stock rod bolts out. 0 of 16 came out without trouble lol i would just slide the stock rod bolt back in enough that it grabbed on the ferrell but not enough to be threaded. Then a few yanks on the bolt using vice grips.

Coated full threading of bolt and a bit under each head.

40 seems not that tight, but i guess the leverage of a 24" Torque wrench just makes it seem that way.

LS1ow 07-14-2017 03:57 PM

forgot to order new cam retainer plate.

LS1ow 07-17-2017 04:00 PM

With the engine being essentailly completed this week, ive composed a scratch list of what else ill be needing to finish the car. So if anyone has any of it for sale, or know of any good deals, post em up.

-Headers+ header gaskets + bolts (most likely going new 1 7/8th TSP race headers)

-Exhaust (may honestly just run catless Y to a bullet muffler and a dump)

-are FAST intake gaskets reusable? if not, FAST intake gaskets

-Throttle Postion Sensor and IAC

-Torque Converter (buying new)

-MAF to TB Boot + 3 to 5 pin MAF harness

-Engine to trans bolts

-Trans X member Bolts

-Battery + Cables (new)

-Power Steering pump pulley + lines

-Spark Plugs (obviously new, not sure which ones)

-Hardware for PCM mount

-Hardware for Lid/Rad cover

-Catch Can

-Front Coilovers

LTb1ow 07-17-2017 04:29 PM

What kind of catch can? Dumped breather or recirc?

LS1ow 07-17-2017 04:35 PM

Recirc.

You gots?

LTb1ow 07-17-2017 04:40 PM

Nein, Just a puke tank setup

LS1ow 07-17-2017 04:47 PM

I dont think a puke tank set up will work.

I have the passenger Valve cover vented via filter in place of oil cap.

drive valve cover vented via filter off nipple.

and ls6 valley cover.

sweetbmxrider 07-18-2017 06:29 AM

I have pacesetters that I chopped part of the ends off  You can have the y with the chopped parts too!

I have a rigged as **** loudmouth but I think I'm putting it on the formula :-?

I'll look around for bolts, might have trans to motor

Just to run down real quick before I ruin anything else.

Cam retaining bracket bolts(x4) - 18ft lbs
Cam shaft timing gear bolts(x3) - 25ft lbs(ARP not stock)
Oil Pump to block(x4)- 18ft lbs
Oil Baffle in pan(x8) - 18ft lbs
Oil pick up to to pump(X1) 106in Lbs. (not 18ft lbs as you'll see tmmr)
Oil pan M8 bolts- 18ft Lbs
Oil pan M6 bolts- 106in lbs
Timing cover- 18ft Lbs

Lock tight on any of it other than the cam retainer?

qwikz28 07-19-2017 07:16 PM

Can't help you with anything helpful, but pretty sure those are Eibach Sportline lowering springs.

LS1ow 07-20-2017 06:46 AM

Honestly i lucked out on this one, and i prob should have double checked the info. Would have saved me this headache.

Turns out the M6 bolt for the oil tube is not the same torque as the M8 :|
