computers are sometimes a BIG part of people's lives. they do things around the computer instead of doing the computer around other things. it takes on an importance that is not easily explained because it is so greatly exaggerated; therefore, when someone calls them an ass or whatever, they take it way too personally. i've not seen 'holier than thou', but some do think their poo-poo smells like roses.

I'm not sure what age has to do with anything. Even though I imagine if the typical 29+ year old read the lounge first, they probably wouldn't come back. :) Luckily, I am below average.
