yeah its an a4...booo...but given a sub 2.0 60' and im pretty sure i can snag some good times. and ill run the trailblazer..no problem with that

Frosty 05-25-2008 08:50 AM

I wouldn't expect 12's on an A4 with just a lid and catback. If you can snag it great, but I wouldn't go there expecting it.

My brothers '00 did.....Then when he put in a converter it went mid 12's w/a programmer and ****** tires to boot..

Frosty 05-25-2008 11:05 AM

I'm not saying he can't or the car can't, I just wouldn't expect it.

i agree. Ive seen intake/full exhaust A4 cars run low 13s until they got a stall converter for it

far off of where im hoping to land up. with dr's im sure i can cut 12.90s, but im not heading to the track until after inspection..getting an ls6 intake and panhard before i go too....but im sure we can find something to make it interesting. a few stanky franky's or some action jackson's and im in. im just running on 1/32nds left on the bfg's.

edit: pm me

when i get to the track my setup will be as follows.

ls6 intake - lid
egr smog and ac delete
tubed lca's
panhard
borla catback
street tires, cant afford the dr's now
i also have the three twenties gearset

BigAls87Z28 05-26-2008 07:30 PM

My friends/coworkers 01 TA ran a 13.08 with street tires, flowmaster exhaust, and an SLP lid.
Its an A4 car as well. Tires are Dunlop SP5000's. IMO, a set of DR's will break 12's.

Well... Bad news guys. I got to work this morning & realized that my friend didnt drive his charger to work. (He always drives it) I walk in & he says "Race is off." Turns out some lady pulled out in front of him this weekend and smashed up his front end. Im really bummed. I've been looking forward to tomorrow for a month now. Anyway, I will still be there tomorrow night to run my car. We just wont know the answer to this question untill he gets his wheels fixed.

PS: I will try to get pics of the charger.

I'm sorry, but does this drive anyone else nuts?? What do you mean by a stall converter? ALL converters have a "stall." Stock converters just stall lower than  high stall converters. I'm sorry, I don't mean to pick on you, but this is how the internet is a terrible thing sometimes. People going around talking about "buying a stall." no. you don't buy a stall. you buy a higher stall converter. UGH!

ive picked that lingo up from LS1tech and other forums. Its just a shortened up version so you dont have to type "higher stall converter" although a stock converter can stall up to a MASSIVE 1600rpm, its is still a stock converter, therefore we call it a stock converter. ive only seen the phrase "higher stall converter" twice, one of these times is from you lol. Go on tech' and look at the fellas who run automatic cars with a stall in it. alot of people will have it say like heads, cam, stall or bolt ons, gears, stall. shortened up version. many people say it that way.

i know. I've seen it on tech too. And personally I think its the stupidest thing i've ever seen. when listing your mods you want to do, instead of saying you want a "stall" it should be "converter," otherwise people who are new get misinformed and start calling one thing something that its not. I'm sorry, you can't call up summit or jegs and order a stall. nor can you go to a trans shop and ask for one. Stalls are where horses ****. Maybe you could get one at tractor supply.

*btw, any point in this post where the word "you" is mentioned, is not aimed directly at anyone, but is a generic term for the halfwits that started this trend.
