MY opinion of coarse... but i feel pretty strong about it....

well your assuming that by playing in D standard your slowing down. I play D standard with GHS boomers. the low E is .052. the thicker strings and the lwer tuning makes for better sound. I've even in the past gona as far as using a bass G for my E

This is true for bass too. thin strings suck. it also makes a difference in sound if you clean the strings well and wipe them down with good lemon oil before you play. I try to do it once every 2-3 weeks to keep the strings nice. I dont know if it makes them last longer or anything but it makes a noticable difference in sound. You will have oily fingers untill it soaks in too so be warned

I play with the CGCFAD tuning and its not muddy at all i use earni ball skinny tops heavy bottom strings and the guitars are set for the tuning so it sounds crisp with great sustain

transmaro93 05-06-2009 08:57 PM

sweet rigs man.... that red jackson is the same body that friedman used to play... i thought id post up... i just started learning tornado of souls-megadeth... i got the opening riff down.. now just to play it at speed... heh... its a tough one but i think i can get it with time... im not that fast and clean yet hah...

Its still my GFs car at the moment. Im paying her off for it. Doesnt really matter i guess since i already registered it and have it on my insurance, its just like a bank loan. But yeah i guess ill change it lol. And yes, with lemon oil on the bass strings it makes a huge difference. I was in monmouth music playing a maroon jazz bass. I want it!!

transmaro93 05-07-2009 04:54 PM

yea im really not that into exodus either.... mainly... megadeth, metalllica, some slayer.... anthrax... the big 4 obviously... then i like annihilator is one of my favs... overkill is good...testament... stuff like that.. althought he singer of testament gets to me after a while because his voice doesnt change its the same every song.... tahts why im not a huge slayer fan... i love the way bobby "blitz" i think his name is sings in overkill crazy voice... hah... mustaine FTW though.... nobody can sing like him...

bubba428 05-08-2009 02:26 AM

3 best exodus songs...these are the only reasons I listen to them

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmXILTFuIwU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoiQ4F6Zx8g
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHA0GuvgbEM

O and for the metallica fans

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6kb5fvv6_A
learn that...took me damn near 3 months just to get down the song with out solos

transmaro93 05-08-2009 04:06 PM

seriously who isnt a mettallica fan... its like the only trendy thing im into hahah... but in reality and justice is probably the most intricate album metallica made... every song on that album is really hard to play.... kill em all is still my fav album though from them... i think and justice is also lars best druming performance... but i still hate him...

sweetbmxrider 05-08-2009 05:35 PM

I always thought they were beautiful between looks and sound...if I was seeking another guitar and had almost any budget that would be the one right there.

I'm not really into metal, but I don't know many songs either, so if you up for just riffing and seeing what happens i'd be up for that.
