Well a cutout would be the other option, but that would be more expensive than picking up an X setup.

And I think a cutout would sound worse too.

NastyEllEssWon 06-09-2009 03:22 PM

well you know for sure an x pipe and true dual dumps is gonna outflow any y pipe you can get. if your just looking for sound then you should look back into the cutout again...sound isnt a good reason to toss out a perfectly good exhaust...especially if its as good as everyone else is saying.

you could do what i did. put an ad on ls1tech looking for someone to trade. i had to drive to CT to make the trade but it was worth it. why not look around into something like that

LTb1ow 06-09-2009 03:24 PM

I would never get rid of my catback, its original from back in 1995... LOL sentimental attachment I suppose...

I may pull the muffler off and slap a down turn on, see how it sounds. One of the tips needs to be fixed anyways. Speed bumps ftl. :(

Frosty 06-09-2009 03:28 PM

Wait, you're an auto trapping at 105 with heads/cam? Holy ****, I thought you had a 6-speed...dude....you need to some things looked at...there's no way you should be trapping that low.

wouldnt get any better with duals dumped before the axle

LTb1ow 06-09-2009 03:29 PM

Eh, I would not care as much if I dented my 100 dollar X pipe...

You do realize that the $100 X-pipe is aluminized, not stainless, has no flanges, and requires assembly...

NastyEllEssWon 06-09-2009 03:32 PM

then just get a cheap x pipe and 20 dollar summit bullets

Yup, currently my setup is slip fit, and I have no problem with assembling things... just need an instruction manual...:wink:

Nah, I will just leave my setup now, if funds permit, try and pick up an electric cutout.

NastyEllEssWon 06-09-2009 03:42 PM

4 pages and he goes with the original plan.....

Yeah, I thought the WF thing might be a bit much, but it is eerily reminiscent.

Hardly. I would love an X pipe, but at the same time, a lot of good points were made against it... one day perhaps.

Its an automatic car...practice isnt going to fix his really low trap speed.

Yes it will....the low trap on his one and only pass was a result of him spinning from the time he launched the car until somewhere close to the 330' mark since he didn't heat up the drag radials.

If he hooked it and only trapped 105, then I'd say he has issues.

That and I had a 6k in the 6AL and thought I didn't....

For launching, hell yes it will. I ran on regular tires and spun like mad at the track and killed my time/mph. 15.1 @ 96. With more practice that could be way better. Hit the limiter in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, no matter when I backed off.

sweetbmxrider 06-09-2009 05:13 PM

damn, justin's good. thats exactly what happened. freakin newb

Didnt know all the details...Thought is was just a bad short time...wasnt aware he was spinning down the track...Then yea get some et streets and get a few more passes.

Ahh, let me guess Atco? lol

LTb1ow 06-09-2009 05:45 PM

Yup.

NastyEllEssWon 06-09-2009 06:35 PM

go to etown and go round the water box  you just wont get as many runs as you do at atco

Anti_Rice_Guy 06-09-2009 06:36 PM

Or come to Island and have the best of both worlds...go around the water box AND get a ton of runs in :-P

LTb1ow 06-09-2009 06:37 PM

Island is a hike for me. Maybe one day.

How far are you from Atco?

LTb1ow 06-09-2009 06:41 PM

Prob roughly the same distance to island, that was a fail on Al's part. Etown is like a 1/2 hr.
