all of this rain is really pissing me off. I've been able to rip on it a few times when it was dry out...2nd gear at ~40mph, just lights the tires up. It'll see the track in 2 weeks...time to start driving some more...has 125 miles on the setup right now.

My car just got tuned today....I'm ready to go. Injectors think differently(110% duty cycle). My tuner said "if it was his car, he wouldn't be racing it", but oh well. In the spring it'll have new injectors and a fuel pump.

NJ346 11-19-2009 07:58 PM

Just got back from RPM in Delaware to get my chummma tune. Car did ok...gotta get a new belt tensioner...my belt kept flying off at around 6500rpm.

LOL. Double check all the pulleys are in good alignment.

yep:-?..that's why there will definitely be no nitrous on the motor until the fuel system is redone. I FP guage was on the rail and the pump was keeping up, just the injectors suck.

sweetbmxrider 11-19-2009 08:06 PM

yeah try to move them up and down for bearing play

we did, they even took the crank pulley off and reinstalled it and it kept doing it. Gave a nice little 5 hp peak at ~6600:wink:. The tensioner has been squeaking, so I'll get a new one before I hit the track. It makes peak power at ~6200(like i said, not a big cam at all), so I might be good on the street.

and he continued to tune it? Huh. Is he gonna re-tune when you get new injectors?

Sorry about that, it was a last minute decision. THey were supposed to go to a rental at atco today, but it got rained out so they were at the shop. I completely forgot you lived in the area.

Kat 11-19-2009 08:39 PM

Not a prob dood. lol Just wanted to bust your stones a bit. Yeah RPM is litterally 5-10 min from here. They seem to know what they are doing :)

DaSkinnyGuy 11-19-2009 08:57 PM

flipping sweet

KirkEvil 11-19-2009 09:05 PM

So, did you go with the PredZ cam recommendation?

nah, went just a hair bigger than what he recommended. Already wish I went bigger, and I didn't see any results at the track:-?. Driveability is pretty much stock with the exception of a little cam surge when cold between 1100-1300rpm. Not sure what kind of gas mileage I'm going to get, but I'm pretty sure I'll still be seeing 23+ mpg hwy. Can't wait until it dries up here and I can start toying with it.

KirkEvil 11-19-2009 09:11 PM

Ive had a 228/232 .614/.598 on 111+2 sitting in my room waiting to go in since summer, Haha. How was driveability on the stock tune?

idle was ok after about 10 seconds...stalled occasionally...pig rich down low...lean as all hell above 3.5K. I spent $60 on gas in the past week to go ~200 miles....wasn't fun.

JL8Jeff 11-19-2009 10:03 PM

What injectors do you have right now? And don't worry about racing after next Thursday, it's gonna get cold as heck so there won't be any good racing left after this Tue or Wed.

Mike 11-19-2009 10:27 PM

cold = good

With the new tire setup I'm running, traction should be a non-issue.
