PolarBear 11-30-2017 11:51 AM

Holy crap, why do we have to keep asking for updates and results?!?!?!

Would have love for this post to be a vid of a nice lopey idle but sadlly, no dice.

Buttoned up the install yesterday to an unsuccessful end. As you guys know the car would fire, and sputter/backfire, but now it wont even get to that point.

The car is back to cranking fine but no signs of life. No backfires, no pops, no nada. It does have fuel pressure, i have not verified spark. But nothing on the spark end is different.

However, i am trying it with a stock style 3 pin MAF and IAT in the lid instead of the 5 pin MAF/IAT set up i had with the 85mm. In addition to that change, ive also swapped the larger injectors back in and took out the stock units i put it since that change didnt work. Have not changed anything in HP tuners yet to accommodate for those changes, wont be able to until the weekend when my friend has some free time.

Needless to say i was a bit discouraged last night, so after it didnt start i just shut down shop for the night and went out. Today after work im going to be back at it, trying to find if i missed anything that could yield the results im getting.

TL;DR-

swapped in 7.300 rods, bigger injectors back in, and 3 pin maf + stock IAT set up to come to a crank no fire.

LS1ow 11-30-2017 06:36 PM

Went over everything and didn’t notice any issues.

Swapped back to the 85mm MAF and IAT unit and it fired immediately. Soon as i touched the starter switch it was on.

HOWEVER.

Loud pop and it shut down

Ah, the ol' "Baby Blocks Shape Sorter" approach. Classic.

in time comrades.

Soon as my rad gets in, ill toss that in and hopefully same day she moves under her own power for the first time. Exciting stuff.

I spent a little time the last 2 days installing the Ozite carpet. Pretty big pain in the ass. Its easy to stretch and mold with heat, but holes would develop very easy. For the install it will look like 1 piece mostly, but it actually went in in a couple pieces. I tried to go 1 piece, but i just dont have that patience. Its 1 piece from t top well to what used to be rear seat footwell. 1 piece for the tunnel. 1 piece under each seat(between those 2 rails the have the studs for the seats) and 1 piece on both sides from the front seat bolt stud rail to up under the dash.

It doesnt look bad, and you cant tell were its over lapped for the tunnel and what not bc its under the center console.

ar0ck 12-07-2017 12:51 PM

Was the Ozite Carpet pre-cut for an F-Body or do you have to do the guesswork for sizing?
