Alright so, those of you with Instagram already know we’re this is going....

On my lunch break yesterday I swung home and tested all 8 injectors with the noid light, and they all lit.

So I quickly pulled off the coils and bought them back to work with me. When I got a second I went over the coil harness, and turns out the driver side coils were wired wrong. I realized when I was tucking the wires under the coil brackets I messed up. Since I wired them up upsides down to hide the wires, on the bench cyl 7 was to the left and cyl 1 to the right. So when flipped back over to go install, it was backwards. How did I not do this on the pass side? I’m not sure lmao

But anyway, threw coils back on and fired up. Sounded much better and I actually got a reading from the wideband !

Backed the car out and let it idle for a bit and let it get to temp. Pulled a injector plug just to verify it was firing and indeed it was. The car idles much nicer, but it still isn’t perfect. There are a few small pops and hiccups at idle.

Ended up taking it around the block. It needs an alignment in the worst way. I eased into it a tiny bit for a second, maybe got to 20% throttle and it broke up. I do feel like it would have cleared itself up if I stayed in it but I didn’t want to chance anything without tuner there.

Part out thread should be up by end of day

Good lord man. You really like to live on the edge. Everyone makes a mistake with wiring so no biggie there, glad you got it figured out.

You have no idea what this tune is like and you take it for a spin. My balls would have been in my throat the whole time.

I did the exact same thing Beggz, so I can't make fun of you.

Change the plugs prior to tunage though plz

You and Smash can commiserate together regarding the coil wiring.

Guess this means Racewars thread should be opening soon???

He is the only member that leaves nothing intact.

So I turned the car around today to be able to work on the hood fitment but mostly for the lulz.

I notice on the pass bank, each header pipe looks uniform. On the driver side, it looks like cyl 1 and 5 have been seeing a ton of heat. The header tube is blue/purple ish

Blackbirdws6 07-20-2018 06:47 PM

Pft. You need some real problems. Come back to me when they are cherry red after a 30 sec cold start :).

Pulled the car out of the garage yesterday again to sweep the floor. Fired up quicker than my brand new truck does. Shines pretty nice for something that has never seen soap.

Yeah probably from your coil wiring fiasco brah

LS1ow 07-21-2018 05:58 PM

Did some street tuning today.

Other than exhaust hanging low and alignment O’ death... feelsgoodman.jpg

LS1ow 07-25-2018 06:28 PM

New o2 sensors in. Not sure if I mentioned it before, but they got smoked. BLS told me to order a set prior to street tune and I didn’t. I shoulda listened.

Started pulling the X pipe off. Going to apply a bit of heat to the 1 part that hits the X member and massage it

LS1ow 07-26-2018 12:21 PM

Also purchased some heat shielding stick on mat & sleeves.

Sleeves for the trans fluid hoses and starter wiring that pass close to the header. Mat for the the gas tank

When does the 1st burnout go down? The internet is waiting...

Drone shot perhaps?

MDSheds_SS 07-26-2018 07:57 PM

Definitely 100%

LTb1ow 07-27-2018 06:56 AM

Wheelie during burnout, or foreva ban

LS1ow 07-27-2018 12:09 PM

I was told to stay away from WOT until after real tune :(

X pipe and rest of exhaust is back on all the way up to the rear section of piping for the tips. I dont think i really picked up much room from tucking it a bit more, but better than nothing. I think im going to have to visit an exhaust shop, but i think ill be okay till winter.

LS1ow 07-30-2018 03:13 PM

For those of you that dont follow me on IG, the car made its maiden voyage out of my neighborhood. All the way to the sunoco for a full tank of 93.

https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1778/...0f19c37d_z.jpg

After that, i drove the car back home and threw on the stock hood. Around dusk i drove it to my buddy Carlos Sobrinos shop to get it aligned.

https://farm1.staticflickr.com/848/4...987cb2b8_z.jpg

The drive there is about 5 miles. Was followed by a cop for about 2 of them but he turned off. I manged to get caught at literally every light on the way.

The car deff feels a bit "wonky" and odd. Hoping the alignment fixes most of it. Also the exhaust really needs to be addressed. In the back its to low, and in the front it smashes the floor. I may end up ditching the true duals.

LTb1ow 07-30-2018 05:18 PM

Awwww yea!

wretched73 07-31-2018 06:44 AM

Looks good! Congrats!
